firstly my friend i would suggest that u find out exactly the risks involved with ur job.... if u r trying to concieve then u would be well advised to ensure that u r not putting ur health at risk (or that of ur unborn child) it would be devestating for u to find out ur pregnant and then miscarry due to substances contaminating ur body or to find out that ur babys not well for the same reason.
If the risks r high ..then rethink ur job...
next...when i got pregnant i went off things....couldn't tea or stand strong smells of paint or petrol... i think that it started pretty quickly about 6 wks.... i think if u've not missed a period yet then it's too early to tell...i get bloated, pee more and have more tender breasts round ovulation time...i think u just become more aware of these things when u want to concieve. At the end of the day u need to wait for ur period..if it doesn't come do a test...no point in wasting money on 'early tests' when ur body will tell u in a few days anyway!
i know some people have periods when pregnant..which isn't the norm.. but u will know when u r pregnant soon enough... there really aren't many women that escape the downfalls of being pregnant.. the heartburn, intergestion, aching muscles, obsessive eating, obsessive nesting behaviour, loss or increase of sex drive, mood swings, constipation, not forgetting vomitting! etc etc (there are good sides too - 'the miricle of making a new life!')
It took me 3 months off the pill to concieve which again seems to be quite usual... some people take much longer...
Good luck and hope things work out well for u!
