Which hair extensions are best?

Postby *Cat on Thu Jun 05, 2008 8:46 pm

Hi all,
I'm having a lot of troubling finding the right extensions. I've tried so many and I've found flaws with all of them. I first got extensions when I was travelling in Thailand. They cost me the equivelent of £50 and the colour and quality of the hair and the bonds were amazing and lasted for over 4 months. When I got back to the UK I tried Balmain extensions. The first problem was the colour – they couldn’t seem to find any that matched mine (I have naturally auburn hair). Then after only a week the extensions started coming loose and falling out, and more and more fell out as time went by.
I then found a mobile hair extensionist who offered Remi hair at a very cheap price. When she put the hair in, the quality was great and the bonds stayed very solid, but after a week the hair became very dry and no matter how much I moisturised or styled it it was getting completely knotted when it was both wet and dry and looked terrible. A hairdresser had a look at the hair and said it was probably not Remi at all.
After that I tried Cinderella extensions and within a week the bonds turned to jelly and started sliding out, even though I was using extensions shampoo/conditioner. The bonds were also practically white and as my hair is a darker auburn colour the bonds could be seen.
So now I’m really lost! I’ve been told that if I get Remi hair at a salon I can use hairdresser glue which is much stronger, but I’m worried about trying Remi hair again if it is bad quality. Ideally, I’d like to get good quality hair with hairdresser glue but I’m not sure if this is possible?
Any advice would be greatly appreciated.
Many thanks
Cat

Honey - the best extensions in the world are GREAT LENGTHS. Their bonds are incredible (invisible and strong) and they will colour match your hair exactly - going as far as mixing individual strands of different colours if that's what it takes. The hair is amazing quality, 100% remy and NOT coated in silicone (because it's such a high quality they don't need to coat it)... which means your hair won't feel dry and disgusting a few weeks later when the silicone has washed out. Best extensions EVER.

Great Lengths are the best i've ever tried, my hairdresser was amazing and explained that REMI meant all the hair was lying in the same direction - so you don't get a frizz ball effect! the bonds also don't damage your hair at all, i first got them to grow out my midlength hair and when they were taken out a few months later my hair had grown well underneath! i a addicted to them now - would never go to another brand - i've tried both cinderella and raccon and the quailty is not the same at all!

hair extensions with wavy monofibre

Postby noi on Thu Jun 19, 2008 8:25 am

I went to a salon called gadeglo in Bangok and they were brill. They gave me long wavy hair, which is always what I've wanted but with my . straight hair never been able to achieve.

They used monofibre and I found it very easy to look after.Just washed as normal and left natural to dry.The curl remained. They taught me how to brush it and it was wonderful. The stylists were very good and very quick. Highly recommend
