Failed my driving test yesterday

I have failed my driving test 7 times now, yes SEVEN, and its getting beyond a joke. I'm sure i'm just not meant to drive.
My lessons are fine, everything goes well, but on the test i either do seomthing wrong or i have the same examiner that hates my guts because i complained about his attitude. So i am positive he just fails me because i got him in trouble.
Anyway, my theory expires in august, so going to do one more test, and if i fail that i am giving up for a bit, its so expensive and too much hassle.
I dont think driving in a cycle lane warrants a failure, i was in it for about 5 seconds and moved out, and if there had of been a cyclist in it, i obviously wouldnt have driven in it! Also if a filter light changes while you're already turning.. i dont think that warrants a failure either. But i guess if the examiners pass enough people for the week to get their commision or whatever it is.. then we're all doomed.

please don't give up i just failed my third one and i thought i drove perfectly last time.The instructor was a night mare and are they allowed to instruct you on a roundabout and change there minds half way through the manuvre? this one wasn't rude but he was dangerous and i did handle the idiotic approach of his well that well infact i thought i'd passed. when he told me i hadn't i was gutted. who made them god? i have two children to bring up and have been doing for the last seven years without help from there father and have got to the stage were i'm putting every penny i have in to this, its pissing me off. not only that public trasport isn't cheap.

what can i say it depends on how much money you've spent on lessons. i feel like they take one look at me and decide to fail me cos i drove like a queen on my last one the driving ex put his foot on the break when i already had my foot on it he directed me incorrectly round a roundabout then changed his mind and said i mean this one. and every time i had a lesson they've asked me to do a bay park.

I used to be a driving instructor for a short while (anyone who knows me on this site might be surprised about that).

The bottom line is - if you can drive safely, you can do it. There's a lot of crap about examiners failing people for the hell of it, or because they've got quotas to fulfil. That's all bollocks!

It's true that some examiners are better than others at making you feel at ease, but the standard of their judgement is fairly consistent.

Most examiners are decent people who enjoy telling you you've passed - yes they are!!! So try to just concentrate on the road and as the cliche says "drive as you normally would'.

hi!!!!! i passed 2day wooooooooohooooooooo! it was on my 4th go!!!!! i think really it mostly depends on luck and the examiner and also ur driving skill, but keep at it and keep trying, dont give up, i didnt and i passed 2day!

If u keep failing in the end, when you pass the test its even more special.

i would also suggest to book ur test not too early in the morning and not too late i did myn at 9.17, its a gud tym and roads are less busy!

I just failed my fourth test.

It's a different thing each time which is annoying but I can see I am getting better and growing in confidence. I know I can pass...now I just have to do it. Rebboked for four weeks time!

It's the money side more than anything that gets to me as I have been paying out money on driving lessons and tests for the last 15 months and think what I could have bought with that! I just try and think, it's not that expernsive for a skill for life, right?

Just hate having to tell my boyfriend and my parents I have failed each time...

Failed on my second attempt which I did monday @10.24, I felt really gutted and now I've lost all the confidence I had before. I got 4 minors and two majors, which I think was so unfair for observation. The examiner said I didn't stop for a cyclyst but my foot was on the brake at the junction anyway looking for an exit, but he slamed on the brake .I was so so so annoyed. I have to do it again, but right now just so so pissed , I hate the guy with so much passion

I failed yesterday with four minors and one major. this was for indicating too early on a roundabout. My witch of an examiner decided that if a car had beenat the junction before i turned off they could have pulled out infront of me. The funny thing was the Junction i indicated infront of as she put it was a one way slip road off the moterway why would i ever turn down that???? What a dick i swear they are told to fail as many people as possible just to get the gov more money. They probs get bonuses for the amount they fail!!!!

I just failed my first test this afternoon with one major (lack of observation coming out of the test centre) and no minors at all which is bloody annoying I knew I'd failed about 3 mins after the test started and then had to carry on for the next 40 mins, in which time I didn't make any mistakes... Aaaaaarrrrgggghhh!

Have to wait over 3 months til my next test...

First time fail today. Oh well...have to try again in 8 weeks then!
God did I cry my eyes out?!? I knew i failed before the test ended. All fine and good, 3 minors, but coming out of a tricky junction proved to be trickier than I even anticipated. Serious fault on observation.
To be fair, yes, maybe if i sat there on the junction longer I would have had a better luck, but you can see bugger all, so I looked right, nothing there, looked left, all clear, looked right again, but the time it took me to find bite and release hand brake and move a bus appeared!!! (this is very short visiable stretch on the right and I am joining road of 40mp).
I am so gutted! I am familiar with this junction, I take it on my practice runs and never had something spring out on me. The examiner said I probably caused the bus to slow down, hence the fail.

I did argue with my boss for this day off, vomited from nerves in the morning, have a cold sore on my lip from all the stress building up to it...for nothing

Lol, I failed my first attempt because I forgot to check my mirror when moving out of parallel parking space. The instructor told me that I did a great job parking, but I didn’t use my mirrors enough. Come on! Apparently there had been a car behind me and it had to stop for me. Well, you should stop if you see a student driver struggling with parking – but I guess that’s just me. So she made me park and then turned to me and said, “ok, I’m failing you”. I was like WTF? I had done everything else right. I had put my blinkers on, I had parked close to the curb, and I had not hit the curb. But one thing like not checking my mirrors resulted in my automatic failure. Great. Now I get to wake up at 5am tomorrow to be at the DMV by 5:20 so I can wait in line till the stupid place opens up at 8. Woohoo.

I've never been an examiner but I'm trying to look at things from their perspective for a moment. We just form a judgment on the one to one encounter with them whereas they are dealing with every type of driver and level of competence imaginable. Taking the extremes they have to test the bighead who thinks they are capable of 120 mph on the motorway to the person who is literally shaking with nerves and then everyone in between!

One advantage of being ancient - I took my test nearly 50 years ago! - is that the driving test was less demanding back then. Passed on the second attempt fortunately, failure first time was fair on reflection.

Use of mirrors is something they have always been hot on I think and rightly so. Even now I tell myself off on occasion if I spot someone in the mirror but I hadn't been aware of them sneaking up behind me.

I would say to anyone "don't give up" but failing several times is bound to dent your confidence, apart from the sheer cost of it all. But remember that the examiner is only human and has to make a very personal judgment sometimes between pass and fail.

All i can say to everyone that fails their driving test is dont give up!
I know it gets you down and upset but think of all of the money you spend. In the end it is worth it.
I have just passed my test after 5 attempts and i am so glad i stuck at it. Each time i failed i just thought i cant be bothered anymore im never going to pass, but i stuck at it and i know it has taken me 5 times but i did it in the end.
I am not a very confident person so taking a driving test was the most nerve racking thing ever. You need to keep focused and if you think you have messed up then dont worry about it just move on. The more you worry the more nervous you get. I thought i failed on a reverse round corner but i only got a minor for it. I passed with 3 minors and those 3 minors were ones that i thought i had serious faults for.

Try not to get down, just stick at it and if it helps, change your instructor... I changed mine and felt so more relaxed with my new one.
