Azor razor

I wouldn't bother! I bought one of these the other day and to be honest I wouldn't use it if I was given it for free. Awful razor - blood everywhere.

King of Shaves Azor

Hi I'm from the King of Shaves, the people behind the Azor. Dear Azor2 (strange you've used out product name as your username?), very concerned by your comments after using our new razor the Azor. It's only been on sale (where did you buy yours) for a couple of days, but we already had some fantastic responses from the customers who bought and used it The feedback has been 100% positive in terms of the shave, the feel, the look and of course the price, which makes your experiences and comments something we need to understand more. So as per the pack why not give us a bell (UK) 0800 0838416 or email to care@shave.com and let us know in person, we'd be pleased to hear from you and can at least get you a refund!!

I bought it from Sainsburys in Manchester. It's quite frankly rubbish. I doubt you've had 100% good reviews. The blades obviously from China or Japan (looking on the Kai website I see a very similar product). £4.99 is no great shakes so I'll save you the refund. You make good shave preps I'll grant you that.

King of Shaves Azor

Dear Azor2, pity you won't talk to us direct and give us a bit more feedback than 'quite frankly it's rubbish', which it's not. What blades do you use regularly?

As to the positive feedback and your doubtful attitude, all I can say is it's still 100%. Obviously we'll get some people (like you) who won't like the product, but you can't please everyone.

You haven't told us why the Azor2 username, as you have to admit it's an odd choice?

Anyway would be good to speak to you directly and you could always give the £4.99 to charity, or let me know who your preferred charity is and we'll get the money to them.

Anyhow, off out tonight, so I'll be sure to enjoy my Azor shave!!

I would like to add to this. I have just tried the KoS Azor and find it to be about the worst cartridge razor ever developed. I have used nearly all cartridge systems - Mach3, Fusion, Quattro etc and find the industry has gone backwards since the Mach3. More blades DOES NOT mean a closer shave - 3 seems to be the maximum - as the space between blades is insufficient to allow the cut hair to clear and not be dragged.

The Azor was even worse than the terrible fusion. Having just used it for the first time I find that it either shaves so badly or cuts so badly that I have ended up looking like I fell through a plate glass door neck first. The last razor I used which gave me a shave as bad as this was a Bic disposable I used about ten years ago. I'm afraid despite all your claims for this product I find it to be very similar in design and performance to a cheap disposable razor. I have for many years now happily used a Gillette Mach 3, to which I will now return knowing it is still the best shave available without resorting to a cut throat razor - which rather ironically you seem to have invented in result if not by design.

I had high hopes for this product and I am truly disappointed that the aging technology of the Mach 3 is still to be bested by the industry.

King of Shaves - Azor

Postby Bob3000 on Mon Jun 30, 2008 12:09 pm

I am a little surprised to read below that people have been having problems with their Azor. I too brought one from Sainsbury’s the other day and I have been chuffed to bits with mine. I have really sensitive skin and the Azor didn’t irritate it at all. I use the King of Shaves oil as well and I have to admit the oil and the Azor together are a great pair. Best part is, it’s environmentally friendly (and a darn sight cheaper) so not only am I now looking great but I am doing my bit for the environment!
:) Would definitely recommend it to all my friends.

Mach 3 Turbo all the way. Tried the Azor and it was like an own brand to be honest. Also looks like a naf plastic toothbrush - I understand some people will think it looks cool, it just didn't do it for me. Fair play for trying though...

in the industry

Postby KOS on Mon Jun 30, 2008 6:48 pm

Hi, given the content of some of these posts and the language used there's obviously some industry people here, some no doubt from our competitors. Everyone's entitled to their view and the internet allows the place to air and share them. At the end of the day the customers will make their own choices and their own decisions as like me I'm sure they like to find things out on their own and will trust the judgement of their own peers. We believe in and all use our products (I know that's not true of others in the industry) and just wouldn't launch something we didn't believe in. So whilst the Azor has got a slating from this small gathering (apart from Bob that it is, thx Bob), I've just enjoyed another great shave from it in combo with our Kinexium shave oil. At the end of the day the customers will be our judge and jury, but given the feedback so far we're stafisfying a lot more people than we're not.

Hi - just my 2c worth, but I bought one of these razors last week - pretty good tbh. First few shaves did manage to cut myself (its v sharp!) but since then really good. Had a good few shaves with it now and still very smooth results - unlike the gillete which is useless after 3 shaves. :x
Took 2 or 3 shaves to get used to it, but i honestly wouldnt go back to my mach 3 now. The azor is sharper, gives a closer shave, is easier and quicker to use in the morning ... and the blades last longer. just be careful for the first shave or 2!
:D

Disposable is best

gilette fusion, mach3, wilkinson titanium, azor, two blades, five blades 100 blades, its all fluff. Best result with a disposable + a good shaving gel (KOS Ultra glide gel) and shave in the shower.

Smooth as a babys bum for 12 hours.

just had a go with this azor (is this a secret anagram for 'sore ass'? :D ) so thought I would add to the discussuion - although I had high hopes for this new razor, I'm afraid its left me looking like I've run through Brooklyn with a sign saying 'I hate the Wu Tang Clan - if you disagree why don't you try knifing my face' - sorry I couldnt be more constructive - maybe it'll get better after a few goes as 'guest' said.

At last, a company who produce a decent razor without all the marketing hype of Gillette  . I've used mach3 since it came out, tried the fusion but went back to the m3 as i found it a more comfy shave than the fusion. Personally, I think there's not much to choose between an m3 and the azor (in terms of quality shave), but personally I prefer KOS's company ethos, so I'll be sticking to the Azor - unless KOS go down the gillette route by adding **** loads more blades as the years go by. My only critisism of the Azor would be, that I think 4 blades is probably unnesseary, and secondly, it'll be interesting to see how the handle stands the test of time - seems a bit flimsy, but I suspect I'll probably be proved wrong, as modern plastics are pretty damn good. BTW am I the only person who's written a review who doesn't work for Gillette or KOS????

Dear KOS,

Are you suggesting I am one of those shadowy "industry people"? If so I demand an apology from you. If you speak to Nicky Springle at KOS who is dealing with my complaint, he can confirm my identity. I am a consumer and getting more annoyed with the "holier than thou" attitude of KOS over this product. It is in my opinion a very poor product in comparison with my current Gillette Mach3 system. I'm entitled to express this opinion in public without you making shady suggestions. If you want I will reveal my identity on the forum and let others decide if I am trustworthy.
