Should i Just get another car??????????

Hi everybody I am in a slight dilema. I got my driver's liscense in Nov. 2004 and in February I bought an old used car from my mom's b/f's friend. It's a 1988 2 door nissan sentra. I payed 700 hundred dollars for it. There are a few problems with it : I smell gas all the time, I changed one of my headlights twice and again it lasted for only 3 days, before going out, and if I dont warm up my car for like 10 minz it will stall. It even stalled on the highway once (thank god it was a redlight). Then last month I was about to go out and i put my key in the drivers side door. It kind of got stuck, so i twisted it, but when i finally got it out the tip of the key was twisted. My friend tried to twist it back together and it broke off. i dont have a spare key. so now i have to get new locks and a ignition. I realli dont want to spend money on this car. My friend's roomate is selling his 1997 Plymouth neon for 1500. He says its in good condition. I'm condersiding to buy this car. Do you think I should buy it or fix the nissan. thanx

Well, a Neon sucks too, lol. It sounds like it'd be a better decision to upgrade to that car though. With it being a 97, there will be a lot less problems with it and you'll end up saving money. Problem is, the crash tests of a Neon suck ridiculously.

i second that.. only partly, your car obviously wasn't taken care of too well. it's a nissan so it shouldnt be this bad.. i'd expect this from something like a, cavalier *looks at ex with a * so if there isnt another car that is readily available go for the neon.
