It's surprising to be honest, a lot of people have a downer on the idea of having children, they think they won't be able to afford it, but unless people take the plunge they'll never find out.

It's an intimidating life change. I think humans are creatures of habit, in that once we get set in our ways, change is daunting and down right scary. The thought of looking out for that new life, protecting them from all the possible harms, wondering if the income can provide enough, let alone the comforts and luxuries, is the job secure enough to depend on the income, is there savings to fall back on.... relationship problems also cause second guessing, which is partly why I am so nasty on cheating and swinging....I think those habits only weaken a relationships foundations and provides less stability for the child. especially as they get older, and "Uncle" or "Aunt" (which are in no way relatives), come to visit and they have to go stay somewhere else.
