Was John Lennon assassinated by the Yanks?

Postby The Colonel on Thu Aug 07, 2008 7:27 pm

I was having a conversation with one of my managers today (who I employ), and out of the things we were talking about this cropped up.

To paraphrase what he said, he reckons that Lennon was assassinated by the CIA because of his position on the Vietnam war. He said something which I personally think is true. He said the only person who could get one million people out on the streets to protest for peace - was John Lennon - and the Yanks couldn't afford it.

I think he's right.

I invite debate.

I don't think so, Colonel. The main reason I say that, is Charles Manson orchestrated gruesome murders and said the Beatles White album had messages telling him what to do, or some malarkey. There are a lot of loonies in the world. Mark David Chapman strikes me as one of many! Lennon was a incredible talent, and wanted peace. He didn't try to instigate a coup or anything, just for people to speak up. I think one single retard extinguished John Lennon's fire.

Well, to answer your question...of course he was killed by a yank. Was he deliberately killed by one of the clandestine branches of the US spy services? You would have to have some proof of that.

I think flying saucers are a possibility, too. But I'm a little short on facts for the time being.

However, when you read about about him he apparently didn't maintain that peace in his personal life - one failed marriage, drug problems, one whacky marriage..

Duh!
He was a LIBERAL.
They don't believe in institutions like marriage and want drugs made legal!
We Americans are damn tired of being thought of as dumb by the rest of the world. So we went to the polls in November and removed all doubt.

John Lennon wasn't a liberal! The Beatles wrote a song called Revolution in 1968 attacking the far left.

I have to disagree with you Fred. I can't think of a more beautiful or peaceful song than Imagine.

John Lennon might have been an atheist, or not, I can't say for certain or know what was in his heart. However, the lyrics to Imagine are more the words I would expect to read that Jesus would have said. The difference is, IMO, Jesus would have said for us to strive for the image to become a reality.

John Lennon wrote:
Imagine there's no Heaven
It's easy if you try
No hell below us
Above us only sky
Imagine all the people
Living for today

Imagine there's no countries
It isn't hard to do
Nothing to kill or die for
And no religion too
Imagine all the people
Living life in peace

You may say that I'm a dreamer
But I'm not the only one
I hope someday you'll join us
And the world will be as one

Imagine no possessions
I wonder if you can
No need for greed or hunger
A brotherhood of man
Imagine all the people
Sharing all the world

You may say that I'm a dreamer
But I'm not the only one
I hope someday you'll join us
And the world will live as one

Remember that video "how the modern Liberal thinks"?
Well, that song above is the embodiment of the modern liberal.

Fred, it's not even in the same ballpark of that video. It is not giving a biased view or opinion of any government. It is not disrespecting what we have.

I know the lyrics to Imagine by heart. It's my favorite all-time song. I posted about this many times.

I don't think you fully understood what he said in that video.
I suggest you watch it again and look for the parallels.

I've never heard it, but apparently the folk singer Phil Ochs had a song called "Love Me, I'm a Liberal"

Come on Fred. I'm not as dense as ToG suggests that I am only due to the fact that I am not an Obama supporter. Give me some credit for "understanding" the video. (I know readin, ritin, and ritmetic.) I am only stating the obvious about the lyrics of Imagine. You can spin it anyway you choose, but the lyrics don't support what you are saying. That's my opinion and I'm sticking with it.
