Two articles in the Scotsman today (not noticeably owned by the state so probably unbiased enough to wrap your chip supper in) reporting that Scotland’s population grew by the largest amount since the baby boom and that Scots are the third happiest nation in Europe.
The population of Scotland stands at 5.14m, and is expected to rise to 5.37m over the coming decades. The key driver of population is growth is migration from outside the UK.
Scotland ranks behind Switzerland and Denmark, with an average satisfaction of 8.06 out of 10. Analysts cite our community and family focus as reasons to be cheerful.
