Mozilla Firefox 3.0.1 sucks a bit

Postby boingo on Mon Aug 18, 2008 5:35 am

I've just upgraded to Firefox 3.0.1 and noticed it doesn't handle graphics very well. All the forum emoticons now show up larger than before and slightly blurred.-ie. Disproportionately large when compared to the text size.
One comparison is when holding down Ctrl and pressing + all the text and graphics gets larger. Now it's as if I've zoomed the graphics by one more than I have with the text.

Does anyone know if there's a fix for this? :?

I downloaded Firefox 3.0 and immediately started getting problems with constant crashes whenever i tried to use Facebook. After a while a gave up and downloaded Flock1.2 browser. After i had imported all my firefox bookmarks I uninstalled firefox and have had no problems since.

I've heard Firefox 3 is a bit dodgy.
My Linux distro is a bit ancient now and I can't be bothered with spending the next fortnight trying to sort out dependencies, so I'm not going to download it in the near future.

I've had no trouble, personally. I love FF, it's my full time browser and has been for some time.

Could it be a font size thing? If you use the mouse wheel you can change the size of the font, which can make the proportion of images look odd, sometimes.

Thanks for the replies. :D

I thought it was a font thing too, so I fiddled wit that. It's as if I've got the emoticons and the graphics for "Live Chat" zoomed in by two more clicks than the text. I had been running version two point something of Firefox which kept crashing, then I remembered I had version 3.1 to upgrade to, so I did that and had maybe five minutes in between using each of them, which meant the way the old Firefox handled graphics was still fresh in my mind.
