I don't think it's odd, but from your description of the reaction you got I guess a significant number of people on the street did. Of course it only takes one significant idiot to set other people off.

Maybe satin jeans should be reserved until you're more confident and able to ignore the jibes, or kept for times and places when they stand out less. Clubs and the streets around an active club are obvious places.

Start a little quieter, perhaps a satin shirt would be more acceptable day wear.

You should be able to wear mens satin jeans.Unfortunately its seen by many men to be a feminine sort of fabric only because we dont wear it everyday as outer clothes. Yet thousands of men wear satin boxers.If most men wore it ,it would be seen as the norm. I love satin too and although dont have satin jeans I have mens satin dress shirts and mens satin pjs. I was a bit self consious to start with about wearing a satin shirt in public so bought a black one and navy blue to start with, as it stands out less and have had only good comments from people. You could do that if you want to wear mens satin clothing and even put a waistcoat with it as they are coming back in apparently. and you will look pretty smart with a good pair of trousers.

wow satin jeans , good on you for wearing them, but you might be better with a mens satin shirt, if you want to draw less attention. Ive got several in different colours. They look smart with a waistcoat and dress pants and a matching satin tie if you want to really dress up for a wedding or function.
