My best friend's skirt was lifted at a keg party. She was pissed. The next morning (with a wicked hangover) she really didn't seem to mind. Beer can really dull the senses. I know that if she had been sober, she would not have liked it at all.

I have a different point of view here. My skirt was lifted when I was drunk and the lifter was sober!!!!!!!!!!!!! I know he took advantage of the fact that I had been drinking. I do remember my skirt going up, but much of that night is hazy! I'm wasn't sure of anything at this point. I talked to my friends and they told me that the guy I had a crush on was the one who did it. I didn't think they were telling the truth. I really liked the guy! When I finally had the nerve to ask him about that night, he denied it and said it never happened. I took him at his word, I had no reason to disbelieve him. About a month later, he had printed some pictures of my skirt up and he was bragging to his buddies. My friends told me that it was true. That really hurt!!!!! Not only did he lift my skirt, but he lied to my face about it. I really thought he was a good catch. Man, was I wrong!!!!!!!!!!!!!! He was nothing but a lying coward!

Oh, yes, I have seen it happen. I was in high school and a girl had her skirt lifted right next to me. It was horrendous! Her panties were on display for all to see! She made such a scene....she screamed and she cried...unbelievable!!!!......I was wearing a skirt, too and I kept thinking that it could have been me. I admit that having my skirt lifted up has been a mild phobia of mine ever since I saw that. I wear skirts, but I am very aware of what could happen....I have had bad experiences with skirts before. Once was with a wrap skirt that almost blew open!! I held it down in time, but it was a close call for sure! If I had delayed even a second more, it would have been all over!!!!.....Some guys are bastards! Some guys are pervs! Some guys are both. Those are the skirtlifters!!!!

Me, too!!!!!!! I won't bore you with the details ,but alcohol+men+miniskirt=embarrassing disaster!!!It was a long time ago, but it took me years to be comfortable in a skirt. What I find most disturbing is how many of you have had to deal with this.

To all the sisters that have responded.
Thanx for your responses. I hope that venting helps and certainly making all of us aware of what I thought was an isolated incident.

Let me add this: don't let that incident rob you of part of a woman's wardrobe. Not every guy is a jerk. Sort of don't let one apple spoil the whole barrel (?).
So test yourself as mentioned before and slowly build back your confidence.
You'll be glad you did! :D

The BBC (England's national broadcaster) has a skirtlifting machine displayed in its website!
It pays to get mechanised!

janetan wrote:Wow, a lot of people are responding to this. I clicked on it thinking it was a joke until I read about some of the other women's experiences.

My skirt was lifted at a wedding reception. The woman that did it was drinking heavily. (Imagine that). I was on the dance floor and she pulled my skirt up to my waist in front of a ton of people. There are no words to describe how unbelievably embarrassing that was. I can really relate to the other women's stories. I think that anyone who does that to a woman is absolutely heartless.

I think this is the worst skirtlifting of all!!!! GEEEEEZ!!!!
Coming in a close second is the post about the guy that did it intentionally to his GF.
Never happened to me.

JuliaB wrote that when she was at school she had her skirt lifted in the school library, but it seems to me that the skirt lifter came off worse!!.
When I was at secondary school in Cheshire in the late 80's and early 90's skirt lifting was a common occurance. Our school uniform was a white shirt, black "flippy" skirt...usually a few inches above the knee....and long black socks. Our knickers had to be either black or white (strictly enforced). The lads used to whip our skirts up as they went past to see what colour knickers we were wearing. It happened to me several times and I have to admit that it caused me no embarresment or problems. In fact, most of us thought it was good fun! Our little flared skirts used to blow up when it was windy anyway, so flashing our knickers was pretty commonplace.
I have to say, though, that I would not be very happy if someone lifted my skirt now. What was a bit of fun when you were 14 or 15 would be seen as true violation at 33!!
