Oh you have got to be kidding me, this again?! Didn't we just go through this in the other forum? Fred75, do you just argue this point in a particular thread until you're totally smacked down and then just start a new thread to have the argument again? When are you going to learn, you will lose every time.

In the meantime, since I don't feel like repeating the same argument I beat you with last time, I'll give you something new to think about.

There was plenty of homosexuality among the Christian heroes of the Bible.

For instance - remember David? As in, King David, the one who killed Goliath? He was in a loving, homosexual relationship with King Saul's son Jonathan. Read the Book of Samuel. There are specific references to their hugging and kissing, and the language used to describe the relationship between the two men is the same words and emphasis used to be describe loving heterosexual relationships in the Hebrew Testament. At their first meeting (at which Jonathan stripping naked is described), they make a covenant of their love together. After Jonathan dies, David marries women, but he states specifically that his love for Jonathan "passes the love of women". It was frequently said that Jonathan "delighted much in David" in passages in which they confessed their love for each other. Read that S***, buddy, and David was the most righteous King thus far. Mmhmm.

You could even find an argument that it runs in the family, if you were to go back to the Book of Ruth. Take a closer look (or a first look, if you've never actually read the Bible, as I've found many Christians actually haven't) at the relationship between Ruth and her step-mother Naomi. I think you'll find some lesbian undertones running through that.

Or, my personal favorite, the story of Elisha the prophet and how he brought a dead man back to life. 2 Kings, Chapter 4. "When Elisha reached the house, there was the boy lying dead on his couch. He went in, shut the door on the two of them and prayed to the LORD. Then he got on the bed and lay on the boy, mouth to mouth, eyes to eyes, hands to hands. As he stretched himself out on him, the boy's body grew warm. Elisha turned away and walked back and forth in the room and then got on the bed and stretched out on him once more. The boy sneezed seven times and opened his eyes."
Now, in case you weren't aware, in the bible, referencing a sneeze is often actually a reference to orgasm and ejaculation, as the Hebrew words for these two acts are very similar. Especially considering that, is it just me, or did the book of 2 Kings just describe Elisha the prophet F****** a dead man back to life?
I submit that this is both disturbing and awesome! lol

Some even argue that the disciple John being described in the bible as "The Disciple Jesus Loved" or "Jesus' Beloved Disciple" actually meant a lot more than just that they were bestest buds 4ever....

So, suck on that, douche.

You forget - christians read selectively.

I'll give an example here:

I love Jesus. Religion is hateful. Marriage is between a man and a woman, but if two men or two women want to then there is nothing wrong with that. You shall not sleep with someone other than your partner, but a good W*** is permitted if you like. God will forgive you for murdering, but you'll burn in hell if you are gay. If you eat shellfish you're going to hell too. Jesus once had a fling with Leo Sayer. Jesus loves digestives as they were given to the Israelites while wondering in the desert. Excuse me while my priest fucks my young son.

In the above passage the bold indicates what the christian sees - the rest may as well not be written - as they don't read it.

That is how pathetic they are.

Fred, you seem to be stuck in the eye for an eye and a tooth for a tooth world of the Old Testament. What about the brotherly love of the New Testament? (and before anyone misconstrues what I just said, I'm not talking about sexual love)

In my opinion, the topic of the thread and the question in the poll are completely unrelated.

Once again there is another thread about how men having sex with eachother should be punishable by death and that AIDS and HIV is the product of homosexuality, and I'm tired of it. It's boring. It makes this whole forum redundent. People are not allowed to have a discussion on the merits of their sexuality without these right wing god fearing biggots preaching the same old rubbish that does not actually stand up to normal rational argument.

What about the spread of AIDS and HIV amongst straight people? The virus spreads at a far greater rate though straight people than it does through gay people.

The debate on slowing the rate of the spread of AIDS and HIV is all down to educating people in practicing safe sex and that means using contraceptives no matter whether you are gay or straight.

Infact I don't think the people who start these threads even care about the spread of AIDS in the first place. They just want to shout anti-gay bollocks and preach the bible to everyone.

Care to give us a link proving gay men in the WESTERN WORLD are not the highest risk for getting AIDS & HIV?
We Americans are damn tired of being thought of as dumb by the rest of the world. So we went to the polls in November and removed all doubt.

I'm not sure that there are verifiable statistics from a recognised authority, but the UN report on those living with HIV at the end of 2006 gave the combined figure for North America and Europe as 2,140,000, wheras sub-saharan Africa has over 24 million sufferers. I would think that the balance of probability would indicate that at over ten times the number of those suffering with HIV, Africa would pose the highest risk. So unless the gay population in Africa is very much larger than it is for the rest of the world, the majority of those infected will be heterosexual.

I did not say a gay person is not at a higher risk of contracting the virus than a straight person. I said it spreads at a greater rate through straight people. I was trying to highlight that most HIV and AIDS sufferes are not gay, but straight based simply on the number of straight people in comparison to gay people. (I have read before that 10% of people in the world are gay). It is an assumption based on numbers.

You just have to consider the problems in Africa, where I doubt Africa has any more gay people than the rest of the world. You hear of babies being born with AIDS! Now not even someone as ignorant as you Fred75 can say that is the product of homosexual activity!

You may want to take a read of this website from the National Health Service.

http://www.nhsdirect.nhs.uk/articles/article.aspx?articleId=196&sectionId=34

If you read that link I posted then you will see it says that gay men are most at risk. However this just highlights the fact that the virus is spread easier through Anal sex and a culture that existed when people did not know of the risks they were exposing themselves to when not using a condom. However that culture has changed.

Also, why do you only care about the West? Do you not care what happens in Africa, the Middle East and the Far East?

Also Fred75, why don't you be honest with us? Your argument here is not based on a crusade to rid the world of AIDS and HIV. Otherwise you would be championing the use of contraceptives, educating people, providing medicine to those who can't afford it and research into curing the disease. From what I can see, the point of your argument is actually about riding the world of homosexuals am I right?
