Male belly button piercing

Postby Guest on Wed Sep 03, 2008 12:42 pm

I posted this in beauty also, however, what are the womens thoughts on guys with a belly button piercing? I am a 35 year old male, married, 3 kids, and think my wifes belly piercing is the sexiest thing ever. I have often wondered what I'd look like with one. Just thought it might spice things up between us. I have no other piercings, and do not want to appear gay or anything. I just thought it might be something we could keep between us. I wouldn't want to show it off in public. I have not talked to her about it as I thought it could be a suprise. Please give me your thoughts.

Dear Guest,
It would be great to think that piercings mean only what their owners think or want, but unfortunately it isn't so, and there seems to be a general perception that male navel piercings are gay. So, going for one of these will inevitably mean that at least some of the people who see it will draw that conclusion.
From what you say, it seems as though your wife isn't against piercings in principle as she has one of her own. If you are looking for something to add a bit of spice, I feel you might consider two practical choices. Firstly, if it is something entirely for the two of you, think about a Prince Albert or some other genital piercing. Or, if you are happy to 'come out' as a pierced person, go for one, or preferably both, nipples. These don't seem to carry the same stigma as the belly button piercing, and they are in a much more interesting place! Your navel isn't actually connected to any other kind of button!!! You might even think about both of you getting matching piercings.
As always, these are only personal views, but I hope they help. Good luck with your choice, and do let us know what happens

Dont listen to anyone who tells you you shouldnt do somthing because of the way they think it looks. Is your wife against it? If not, then why on earth would you give a sparkling rats ass about what someone else thinks? You can choose to live your life 2 ways...according to the opinions and predjudices of others, or you can take the path of greater courage and live according to your own rules. There is always going to be a small minded pinhead whispering in the background. Ignore them, or confront them and tell them to mind their own damn business, they will go away if you dont allow them to bother you.

If I was you I would have no hesitation in asking the wife if she would like the idea of you having your belly button pierced and if she approved I would get it done straight away. I am a 42 year old guy and for a while now I have wanted to have mine pierced but unfortunately my wife is not so keen coz she thinks its a girlie thing and perhaps for younger hunks only. Women have contrasting views when it comes to navel piercing on men, my work pal loved the idea and after years of trying to convince her macho, very anti piercing, 38 year old hubby to have his done she finally got her wish, dragged him to the tattooists and now he sports a sparkler in his belly button as well as a couple of tummy tatts and is well chuffed with it all now !! You could however be brave, get it pierced and hope that your wife will like it but that may backfire on you if she doesnt dut at least you can take it out. Definately not a gay thing tho but just sexy I would say, good luck !!

Just do it and get it over with. If you want it, you'll never be happy until it's done. I always thought it looked sexy on a girl, but I always thought it looked as though it FELT sexy. AND IT REALLY DOES. I'm a male with a firm flat hairless front, and I don't parade my ring, but it would quite excite me if somebody caught a glimpse and thought it was odd, sexy, or nothing at all.
