Iceland is beautiful. I spent a month there some years ago and visited almost the entire island and my advice would be to do a tour as you will see so much more.

I've heard that Iceland is quite boring. Is this true? There's a festival on there every October called Iceland airwaves which is supposed to be good, but I've heard that apart from October time of year, there isn't much to do.

Personally I'd like to go, I'd especially like to spend the day in the Blue Lagoon where you relax in the hot springs....!

If you are into open spaces, mountains, amazing scenary, huge waterfalls, hot springs, thermal geisers, active volcanoes, and a new culture then Island has an awful lot to offer.

Ibiza it is not, but its one of those must see places.

Wow salsito, nice pictures of iceland. The wildlife ones are a bit spookey because there are some strange sea creatures in the rocks there ewww!

Love the architecture there. Anyone know whats the best place to fly there from?

Unfortunately I can't claim those as my own, I do have quite a few slides etc somewhere....

You can get the ferry there if you have the time (goes via the shetlands!), great way to arrive.

There will be flights from the majority of the major airports to Reykjavik.
