I believe that even 1st cousins are legal to marry, but it's definitly frowned upon in most families and societies.
So I guess sleeping with your second cousin would be legal too. I have a feeling though that the rest of the family wouldn't like it very much... But I guess it depends on the family...

Dating couisins is common in parts of the American south . Mainly in small towns and in rural areas but not so much in citys and bigger towns . From what I have seen back in the hils of eastern Kentucky most of the people I knew first bf ( mine was , cousin Ricky Lee at 12 ) or gf and also sexual partner was a relative . I have two relatives who are first cousins who live together ad have a baby . I'd write more but my uncle/husband wants me to make him food . i disagree with the comment about the south. The south always gets the bad hype about people dating or sleeping with their relatives. I have been living here for 22 years and have yet to see or hear this. Mainly people just joke around about it, and when they do they refer to Arkansas not the south in general.

I've lived here all my life and thats what I have seen . Like I said it seems to happen in rural area and little towns mostly . People in the citys and big towns ( unless they are from the country or little towns ) don't do stuff like that .Don't get me wrong , I now think it is goofy .

I have to agree with Dangerfield23 on this one folks. I live in Georgia and in my entire 41 years I have never known anybody except for 1 person that was inbred. My ex-husbands mother had a child with her biological half brother, and it was not a case of rape or anything like that. It was mutual from what I understand.

Thats not to say that I have never heard of this happening before but in all those instances it happened more like 60 years ago. Heck I would imagine during that time that it didn't just occur in the south. If folks dig a little deeper into the wood pile no telling what they would find.
