I am having a gastric balloon fitted on Saturday through The Hospital Group, just wondered if anyone has any advice or success stories. :P

My sister had one fitted at a Leeds Hospital, I'm afraid it hasn't worked.

She is still 23 stone. :(

hi ive had the gastric ballon inserted last yr in june 08 - dont waste your money it hasnt really worked, ive spent £3500... i really thought this would work & it would stop me feeling hungry, & some how i would be able to take some control back... altogether ive lost only 11lbs...

firstly it took me over 2 weeks to get over the procedure, i was vomiting & couldnt move for over a week... secondly after i got over the worst (which lasted for over 3wks) i still felt hungry it didnt make me feel full up... my stomach is just more bloated!!!!!!!

i just dont want anyone else to waste their money like i have, i feel like such a failure...!!

Hi all, I had the balloon fitted 6 weeks ago and the procedure itself was really unpleasant! I put weight on the first 2 weeks even though I was constantly vomiting and unable to get out of bed. It cost me £4000 and although I am eating less (about half the amount I used to), I have not lost any weight. It does make you feel like a complete failure and I spend most of my time crying. Please dont waste your money!! :(
