Your choice mate (seems a waste), but it's not illegal.

I just do not understand!! There are sooo many other people in this world why on earth would you want to have relations with a relative...why would you want to put that shame on your family. You need to go to a bar and pick someone up not a family dinner. It is just wrong

Not true, first cousin is prohibited, second cousin is allowed. KY is unusual in that it will not recognise a valid marriage in another state if it does not conform to it's view of cousin marriage.

ky law defines that second cousins are more properly know as first cousins once removed. so therefore they are refered to as first cousin in all aspect of the law. I know that this sounds crazy but read KRS 402.010. the short of it is that what we call a first cousin the ky law says that is just a cousin or a full cousin what we call a 2nd cousin ky law says it is first cousin or first cousin once removed. In some places like kycabinet for health and family services they use the terms first and second cousins (not promitted to marry) because this is how normal people refer to them.
You know all of this is really usless the reality is that it is wrong to have relations with you family members.

Just to get this right a second cousin is a great grandchild of your great grandparents where none of their grandparents are the same as any of yours.

A first cousin once removed is the child of your cousin (completely different).

Regarding Ky

"No marriage shall be contracted between persons who are nearer of kin to each other by consanguinity, whether of the whole or half-blood, than second cousins." This only includes people NEARER than second cousins.

Marriage between cousins

Marriage between first cousins is prohibited by KRS 402.010. There are no exceptions to the prohibition and such a marriage is incestuous and void. See Ex parte Bowen, Ky., 247 S.W.2d 379 (1952) and OAG 80-300.

Kentucky does not recognize such a marriage between first cousins even if it is consummated in another state. In Dannelli v. Dannelli's Adm'r., 4 Bush 51 (67 Ky. Rep. 51) (1868), the court said that in Kentucky it is the settled law that a marriage valid in the country where celebrated is to be held valid in other countries where the parties may be domiciled, although it would have been invalid by the law of the subsequent domicile if it had been originally celebrated there. However, polygamous and incestuous marriages are exceptions to the rule since such marriages are contrary to the law of nature and are subversive of the good order of society. Thus public policy prohibits even the recognition of a marriage between first cousins in Kentucky even though it may be legal elsewhere.

In connection with the term “cousin” the court said in part in Culver v. Union & New Haven Trust Co., Conn., 179 A. 487, 489 (1935), as follows:

Primarily and specifically the term “cousin,” without more, means the son or daughter of one's uncle or aunt (called more fully own, first, or full cousin, or cousin-german). In its usual and ordinary acceptation it does not connote second or third cousins. The children of first cousins are second cousins to each other; the children of one's first cousins are sometimes popularly called his second cousins, but are more properly, his “first cousins once removed.”

its not just small towns and villages that it happens i met a guy in a bar and we started seeing each other.depends on how well you know your family and how close you are and not in that sense.it turned out that we are cousins never knew anything about each other or each others family sounds strange but were happy.dont have children together but i think the threat of having children that have disabilites is scary, i would not love them any less but i think that risk runs no matter what circumstances are.its like smoking, drinking and drugs through pregnancy there are more chances of abnormalities happening.I have seen a friend of mine going through pregnancy smoking pot and drinking and another stopping smoking and drinking, the kids were born 9 days apart but the mother who drunk, the child was three weeks early and doesnt have any conditions where as the one who done everything in her power to protect him may have autism.I'm not a doctor and dont condon drinking drugs or smoking through pregnancy but some things are out of our control.Looking at people walking through the town/city centres would you know who are cousins or step brothers and sisters???We are certainly not planning kids but it is somthing that as a couple they need to look into when their kid goes to school and her/his friends find out, as much as you would like to keep it a secret, children are not nice when they spot a weakness.feelings cant be helped.I certainly dont find my close cousins attractive, neither do they to me.It has been discussed with my mum and dad and mums side of the family and they are so what happy and understanding with our realationship. It is a hard road to go down but no matter what person you are with how well do you them??

If Apes were intrafertile with Humans, would you have any more compunctions about having sex with them than having sex with your cousin?

Probably not. You can have sex with ANYONE or ANYTHING. But you MIGHT want to consider using a condom or two--just in case.

Not a thing wrong with having sex with first or second cousins. One of my firsts was with a first cousin who was peeking in on me masturbating. It went a lot further! As for marrying? I've heard that it is legal in some places to marry a third (or later) cousin.
