I am interested in peoples thoughts on this as i was asked it by my father in a recent conversation.

Every other country is allowed to have one but England isn't, didn't you know it would be elitist and racist? England as a country no longer exists according to the EU so if we don't exist we don't need a parliament. Makes you wonder what all these elections are for and why we pay taxes doesn't it. If we don't exist we don't need to pay taxes.

The Labour Party brought more women into Parliament than ever before, but most of them left to go and have babies, and do other womanly things.

And they only achieved it through the use of compulsory all women shortlists - i.e. sexual discrimination and totally condescending to the women concerned because it implies they were too hopeless to get selected on merit.

The Scottish and Welsh devolution movement has unearthed a sleeping giant in the English.

We have been happy to have a UK parliament, because basically, it meant England. The UK is ruled by England and has been for centuries, ... but with the nationalist movements in other parts of the UK, they have caused the English to examine their own identity, and to request it's own rights.

I personally resent putting British on my passport, because quite simply i'm English, not British. That feeling is becoming more and more prevalent, and I genuinely see a non racist, but very much English movement emerging. One that hopefully embraces diversity, but one that celebrates England, the people who were born here, our traditions and the people who want to join that.
