Motoring Theme

My fiance and I are into cars...specifically american muscle cars. Since we met because of this shared interest, we are trying to come up with ways to combine our hobby with the wedding and still have an elegant event. We are already bringing the colors of our cars into play, but I can't seem to come up with any ideas beyond that. I was looking for a cute 'race car' cake topper and was also hoping to find something similar to use as placecard holders.

Is this crazy? Should I just stick to using the colors and maybe incorporate another theme? Any suggestions or ideas would be great! Thanks!

Our friends were also into cars but they took it to a bit of an extreme and had a drive-thru wedding in Las Vegas!
They absolutely loved it and said it sounds cheesy but was fab.

I'm not engaged, but I also want to have a motor themed wedding. My boyfriend and I have talked about it and come up with a few ideas.

We both have VW beetles in restoration (which will probably put our engagement back by a good few years - and that suits me) and plan to have those two feature heavily in the photos. We're also a member of a volkswagen club(where we met) and have thought about getting some of the people in the club to form a VW "guard of honour" for us

He'd like to arrive at the ceremony on an american style chopper, and I'd like to turn up in a lowrider. No ribbons - maybe pinstriping, flames, airbrushing - but no ribbons.

We even though about me walking down the aisle to the theme tume or "herbie" but, maybe that's going a bit too far

I dunno about the reception, but the top layer of the cake WILL be a white beetle, with the elegant flowers and plain icing underneath - there is going to be some elegance to it - butterflies released, white dress, etc

I went to a motor-themed wedding....well sort of. It was a friend/couple that is into DSMs and so the whole team caravaned into the parking lot together and after the wedding, group pictures of the team with their cars was taken.
