was my drink spiked?

Postby M.A. on Sat Jan 01, 2005 10:44 pm

I was at a New Years Party with my girlfriend and we (her and I) think her drink was spiked but we are not sure this is what happened... we had been drinking wine and beer, though neither of us were drunk. we both went to the toilete and then met again. my girlfriend can remember nothing after this. i cant remember where we got our drink at this point but we got another drink. all of a sudden she was making no sense, and when i talked to her she would either ignore me or talk random stuff. i took her out side and she started to boucne around and sway and shake. i asked her what was wrong and if she had taken anything and she mumbled garbage. i took her to the car and she slept for six hours. i tried waking her after three and couldnt although i was shaking her. she vomitted through the night, and then after six hours she woke up and said we should go back into the party. she had no idea what had happened although she was a bit wobbly. she does not take drugs and knows she didnt up until she lost her memory. does it sound like her drink was spiked?

If the drink was spiked, she would've just had no memory of what happend, and she'd probably have a small hangover. however, if she was passing out like that and vomiting in her sleep, thats a sign that she had way too much to drink in the first place and you are lucky she is still alive.

it happened to me, after my first drink i felt unsteady and wondered what was wrong with me. After another drink i apparently just fell to the floor. I had very little memory of that night except i woke up next to someone i had not planned to sleep with who insisted i was drunk. I cannot tell anyone about this for fear of consequences.

Sounds exactly like your drink was spiked. Next time, get your own drink and make sure you watch it.

well i can really say about spiking drink's but i think i should say this:

drink lower's the suger level in your blood stream, if that level get's to low then you might pass out.

that's not to say someone didn't spike your drink, it's just something you should think about first.

ps i'm not a doctor

Your drink was spiked, and you could go to the Police, who will do nothing because there is nothing they can do. Put it down to experience and me much more careful in future. It is so easy for someone to drop something into an unguarged drink.

That doesn't matter for the common man, the effect is too small. Only people with diabetes have to be carefull.

However, alcohol dehydrogates your body, because alcohol prevents your kidneys to concentrate your urine. So that's why you have to pee a lot (more water in the urine) and why you get the typical hangover-headache (brain doesn't get enough fluids)

In this case, it sounds to me like your drink was spiked, since you said neither of you were drunk. Never ever leave your drink on a table somewhere, and when you went to the toilet, order new drinks! And be glad she's still ok :)
Always wanting to try something new ;)
