6 days late on my period

i am 6 days late on my period. me and my boyfriend had sex on dec. 29,and he nutted in me. my period was suppose to come on jan.3. well today is jan.8 and still no sign of my period.i took a pregnancy test on the jan 5 it was negative was that to soon!

Hiya, i'm the same with you there i am 6 days late aswell haven't done the test yet because a friend of mine was 10 days late when she had her son Caleb, done a test the next day but in the morning because t hats when you have the strongest wee according to her anyways, yeah you have done the right thing but go to your doctors aswell to make sure.

How old are you (roughly)? Are your periods normally regular?

I knew a lass once who every now and then would miss a period completely. The rest of the time she had a regular but strange cycle length... 30 days then 35 days alternately.

Pregnancy tests are pretty accurate these days but it IS important to read the instructions carefully. For example, drinking too much liquid beforehand can dilute the hormone in your urine and produce a false negative.

Perform the test again - I don't know where you are and how hard the tests are to obtain, but here in the UK you can easily get a double-pack with two tests so you can test then test again a few days later.

i think you ae trying to soon... alot of tests can olnly show posative after about 3 weeks, might be different though... but i would wait and keep checking and go to a gp.
but agin yes, it is very common to be late or even miss a period for no reason, maybe abit to much stress over christmas or chnage in your diet...hope you find out soon.

Reading the instructions is, here more than anywhere else in life, vital!

Early pregnancy tests work by monitoring human Chorionic Gonadotropin (hCG) in urine, which rises like this. Some on the market can detect the levels typical in the first few days of pregnancy; read the datasheet with your product. I'm certainly aware of products which claim to show positive readings at fertilisation + 6 days.

The best time to do a pregnancy test in the morning, this is when the chemical that is produced when you are pregnant is strongest. 6 days is a tad early to do a pregnancy test.

I was in your situation 2 years ago, and I did a pregnancy test every fourth day....i.e the first when i was 7 days late (came back negative), the second when 11 days late ( came back positive).

Also try not to get too stressed about it ( i know its easier said than done)
but that won't help either way.
