Postby Lena » Sun Aug 20, 2006 5:13 pm

Yesterday saw on tv while they want a UN peace force in Lebanon the israeli's were upset since some of the soldiers ( who will be risking there lives to defend israel ) are from moslem countrys .........

Today see that israel that always claims it wants peace has broken the cease -fire and is attacking Lebnon again .............

Also saw some snotty looking guy on tv saying if you disagree with israel attacking the Lebanesse people today it's just because you don't like jewish people ...............?
Alive in spite of myself and looking at the world .........

Oh well, if we don't back every choice they make 100% and they want to call us anti-semetic then they can go for it - I don't give a rats - I disagree with them plain and simple and trying to play the bigot card won't change that. People make statements that you could play that card on all the time - anti-american, anti-west, anti-muslim, etc, etc. The Israelis shouldn't expect to be treated differently to what anyone else has to wear. That's the world we live in unfortunately and as long as there are borders there are disputes.

Yeah I agree and I'm so tired of all this warring crap. Its like get a grip of yourselves and stop dragging innocent people into your petulant disputes. I'm not racist and never have been, yet if you disagree with WAR, youre called anti-sematic. The whole idea of war and senseless killing, only brings about more negativity. :P

When there is a failure of politics and you must agree this is the case when innocents are bombed without provocation, war is sometimes the only response that can return balance to the nogotiation table.

You don't have to like it and you can express your views about what should be given up at the nogotiation table, but you're not in the same world as the rest of us if you believe war isn't part of human nature.

In this case one radical side wants every non-shia to die, another side wants every non-sunni to just die. Yet another side just wants to live in peace, that would be the Jews in Isreal. Now which side are you on?

I have to disagree. The Political Right in Isreal, when fully in power, would love nothing better than to move the entire native population of the Gaza strip, with bulldozers, into the sea. The only thing stopping them is the political ramifications and trade alliance with the USA. Isreal occasionally gets very fed up with getting bombed for no reason.

Is that what they do already? according to john pilger, a palestinian kid is shot dead at school, home or play almost every other day.

I'm not familiar with either of those publications. It'll take me some time to look at them. On the surface they both appear preoccupied with adjectives and adverbs, rather than solutions or analysis. Probably why Pilger is freelancing.

I like and read, with full knowledge that everyone who writes has a bias:

Israel has a right to exist and a right to defend herself, like every other country, Jewish, muslim or otherwise.
Israels attack of Lebanon was justified, infact, if you read the Amnesty International report (who are usually very biased), they repremand Lebanon and Hezbollah far more than they repremand Israel.

Israel were very very diplomatic in their attack of Lebanon. They even went as far as to call the areas of Lebanon that were going to be attacked to tell residents to flee before the attack begins. Those who stayed were clearly supporters of the Hezbollah movement, and under international law Israel took every precaution to prevent civilian casualties. You need to do more homework before you just come _ preaching a bit of your anti-war garbage.
