"Your" instead of "You're", yes there IS

Postby bluenwhitehoops on Sat Sep 02, 2006 9:03 am

Why have posters started using "your" instead of "you're"? I see it all the time and drives me crazy.

I hate that, there's so many people that don't write properly on here, or just leave whole words out, I've always been good with my grammar and spelling, but then I'm a perfectionist with everything!!

Ok geeky moment over!!

Folks are just too lazy to spell properly.

My spelling and grammar are nearly always impeccable. 8) It's only when I'm inebriated, or feeling melacholy that things start to go down the pan...

Mountain out of mole hill?

Im a lazy speller unless im writing letters etc. I dont think spelling/grammer should be a problem on here. I think the subjects and answers are far more important than someones spelling. And what about people who are dyslexic?
I'm not a tease, Im just a reminder of what you can't have! ; )

The subjects and answers are easier read if people bothered to take the time to spell correctly!!!! People who are dyslexic can't help themselves.

Maybe not, but when you partake in intelligent discussion, it helps to have reasonable grammar skills to reinforce your point of view.

Albert Einstein had dyslexia. Imagine where we'd be now if he'd been a lazy speller when recording the theory of relativity.

i hate it when people don't use the correct word. it has nothing to do with being finiky or Anal!

to use this thread as an example: your and you're mean to completely different things.

it is lazyness and ignorance.

the occasional spelling mistake or not perfect grammar can be forgiven as we are not in an english exam after all but in is common decency to make your posts make sense.
