piercedmomdau wrote:OK, here goes. My girls are 13 and 15 and they started getting their ears pierced at age 5, after that they got one more set per year until they turned 12 when they got up to 12 in each ear. They also have their nose, tongue and belly done.

I know for a fact, no school in the land would allow that.

With respect Colonel, you don't know what country she is posting from

Uganda perhaps?
It is a bit of a giveawat which country she comes from, and it is a bit of a giveaway that she is talking rubbish.

I withdraw my respect and bow to your obviously superior telepathic powers.

what are you on about? This person's family may well be completely fictitious but it doesn't mean no school in the land would allow kids to look like this. There were several girls at my high school with pierced noses and piercings all the way round their ears, I remember because I fancied them for it... I never saw their tongues though.

Did any of them ever have what is described in the post?
Plus, have you ever seen 12 year old's with what is described?
Would those things be permitted a) in general and b) for those of such an age?
How likely is it that what has been posted is false, based upon what you have said above?

I thought my post was clear enough... yes, there were kids of 12 upwards with pierced noses and at least 8 or 9 earrings in each ear.
If true, then that is disturbing.
Isn't that what girls do about that age?
No, it isn't. I may not have any girls myself, but no girls I have ever seen at such a young age, and in fact, even at an older age, have ever had what you describe.
Teachers had better things to do than kick them out of school for it.
Oh, really? You think?
Earlier this year I received a phone call from my sons' secondary school (while at work) asking me to come and take my 16 year old son home because he was wearing the wrong colour socks. I told them to piss off - albeit not in those words.
I saw a kid the other day with half inch stretched ears who looked no older than twelve and I'm pretty sure she had a school to go to.
Then I hate to think what their parents are like.
All I'm saying is you don't know this for a fact... I would have thought the idea of it being the idea of the is the unlikely part. Mind you, I don't really care, let the fantasists have their fun, it's harmless.
True, it is. But does it not interupt the place from its normal subject? If they want a thread specifically to do that, then they are at liberty to start one. I am sure others here, who dislike these "troll" posts, would therefore happily leave them alone.
Is that a bad idea?
Nobody looks on here and thinks that if good old Julie H can pierce her babies ad infinitum they will too. Except maybe that alex guy, he's a bit disturbing.

1:why the heck are you =bothering! U know its all nutters on here.
2: you clearly dont live on a council estate! Trust me, more kids have piercings and tattoos and babies than you can shake a stick at. And schools dont bother so much cos they are too busy paying them to stay there and rewarding them with trips to the zoo cos they learnt how to spell their name right (at 14 brilliant they are).
