5 Basic Ideas I have found are:

1) Loosing weight can sometimes cure snoring. Snoring is more common in overweight people. Follow a healthy lifestyle to develop good muscle tone and lose weight.
2) Avoid sleeping pills, tranquilizers, or antihistamines before sleeping unless very necessary or prescribed by your doctor.
3) Avoid alcohol and Stop snoring ! Drinking can cause snoring.
4) Cures snoring by following a regular sleeping pattern.
5) You are likely to snore more when you sleep on your back. Sleep on your side instead of your back. This may help you to stop snoring.

Hope these help you

Ear plugs work well if you put them in the snorer's mouth! :D

i love aromatherapy, very into it but that doesnt help me sleep, some of the sleeptherapy oils, lotions etc i use make me feel relaxed and tired but as soon as i get into bed i wake up bcoz of his snores! i wish i cld get him to do something like using my lavender oils in the bath or that but nope he thinks its "a bunch of crap" never mind maybe the ear plugs will help

It's 3.24am....I've not gotten a wink of sleep.

My b/f's snoring's so bad that it's loud even when I have foam earplugs in.

He offers to wait for me to fall asleep, but before I'm asleep, he'll beat me to it, and start snoring. If I wake him up, he get's all angry that I woke him.:(

We've tried aromatherapy, he doesn't sleep on his back, he's not overweight, he doesn't drink often.

I'm at my wits end.

any suggestions that don't involve me taking sleeping drugs?

Hugz,

Becky*

Hi, you have my deepest sympathies cos my fella is the same, its like sleeping next to a jcb! We've tried no pillows, sleeping on stomach and the like but the only one that has made a difference is 2 pillows and a menthol throat sweet just before bed. But as your fella isnt keen on you waking him i'd suggest trying the following.....record him snoring so he can hear just how bad it is for you and research sleep apnoea and present him with the facts (they are pretty scary) it might just make him consider seeing the dr.

Good luck

I sugest you go and see ur GP. My husband snored for years, I totally sympathise. I recorded him one night to show him how bad it was. The doc referred him to the hospital, and he had an operation on his nose, and now he pretty much hardly snores. It is dangerous though because snoring can cause someone to stop breathing in their sleep. This spurred my man to get something done about it. That was almost 2 years ago and its been great!

My b/f used to be a terrible snorer but he had a big op on his nose and throat to help it. Has made a big difference the only time he snores badly now is when he is drunk.

You should explore the avenue of having a dental appliance to stop the snoring, they do work. There is a company called solutions 4 snoring we found them at
They introduced my bfriend to a dentist near to where we live, he had a made. Voila cured. They took the whole thing very serious and produced a great result. Hope this helps some of you

Snoring stopped using Radio Frequency

Postby AngelaSnorer on Tue Jul 26, 2005 2:49 pm

Has anyone experienced or heard of the relative new way to treat snoring using Rsdio Frequency technique. They say it can be done within 20 minutes and in pain free during and after the procedure. It is not available on the NHS
I have identified a clinic in a stop snoring clinic in Manchester but ideally want some feedback from other suffers prior to proceeding.

Many thanks
