hello!
I was wondering if anyone remembered someone from the last thread who called herself "rites of passage" she had a page on a website where she recorded her progress with strivectin cream, she didnt have any luck with that stretch mark cream but was going to start the jean wu and record her results with it!?
Does anybody have the web address? It would be interesting to hear how she is getting on with it as i think its been a few months now!

ERP

Postby AE3000 on Thu May 19, 2005 6:36 pm

Has anyone tried ERP for their stretch marks? It was developed by Dr. Elisabeth Dancey in London using a fine needle and an electric current that regenerates collagen. I know an editor for Tatler Magazine that had it done and she has said it removed all of the stretch marks on her breasts, stomach and thighs due to pregnancy. I have never seen her results however since I live in the states while she lives in London. Some of them came back when she gained 2 stone but she plans to go back when she loses the weight. The website is www.facemagic.co.uk

I'd really like to know if anyone else has tried it.

BAMBI EYES wrote:Hey everyone!

Basically ive had stretchmarks since I went thru puberty at 13 and from putting on a large amount of wieght and then losing it really quickly, Im now 20. Ive tried cocoa butter, vitamin e oil, olive oil, rosehip oil. Ive taken supplements for skin, omega 3+6+9 capsules, I started the jean wu method but its so time consuming I just cant be bothered with it although I did see some results so maybe if you can stick to it it does work.

Basically fact is nothin will ever get rid of them they are scars deeply embedded in the skin. All the treatments out there help improve appearance by smoothing the external skin texture through lasers and abrasive tecnigues. Or massaging lubricants into the skin to keep it moisturised and improve ciculation as well as taking supplements helps generate some form of healing from the inside but really and trully nothing eliminates their appearance.

I have given up on removing them completely but what camoflage techniques are there. As black person with a medium reddy brown complexion the white silvery lines are very noticeable and alot of treatments using the abrasive techniques are not reccommended for black skins although I think there is one laser that i think is safe, blue dye or something? But yeah anyway Ive noticed when you tighten the sking it looks alot better, equally if I could lighten the areas around the stretchmarks to be the same colour although the texture will still be visible in certain lights they would hardly be noticeable.

I find these stretchmarks particularly distressing because Im only 20, I havent had kids and its like after all that effort to lose the weight and improve my self esteem i get these permanent reminders of how big I was and feelings about myself that I'd rather forget. These things hamper everyaspect of my life and really affect how I value myself in relation to others. I dont think peopl understand the depression and the emotional scars that come along with these marks. Its like because they dont affect your health medically they are not an issue.

To me as long as something affects how you go about your daily life and your mental health its important and needs to be dealt with. Why dont they understand this. I mean i have them on my stomach, my arms, my back, the tops of my thighs and they make my 20yr old breasts look like a 90yr olds! I hate getting undressed in front of anyone, especially new partners, it affects my social life cos i can never find anything nicew to wear that covers up everything and i refuse to go out or go out and feel miserable cos im the only one wearing a jacket in a sweaty nightclub.

I mean i wouldnt let someone take the piss with me in terms of what i was prepared to do for a cure but i mean i would give almost anything to be free of them. I found a site http://www.skinbleaching.net/faq.htm which talks about these pills that celebrities use to make themselves lighter. Supposedly its all natural and lightens any pigmentation problems and overall complexion permanently. It mentions stretchmarks and other things and to be honest its not the first ive heard of using skin bleaching to disguise stretchmarks but the only thing that concerens me is one it sounds almost too good to be true and is likely to be very expensive and two I have no problem with the colour that I am, I love my complexion and where the skin is scar free its beautiful and clear and a nice rich glowy brown and i love my colour and dont really wanna mess about with what nature gave me to such an extent but if this is the only thing that may work maybe i'll just have to do it.
Has anyone tried it before or heard of it and would you recommend it. I just need some advice.

Another reason why im in such a hurry is that its my brithday in summer and ive booked a beach holiday. I would love to wear a bikini and show of my figure with no concerns. Im not vain and i dont expect miracles, to be honest if i could just were a one piece halter swimsuit or something sexy for my age group I'd be happy. Right now I cant even wear a vest cos of my shoulders and upper arms. I know im waffling but i'll continue!

I went to a laser clinic the other day and she qouted me £125 per session for 6-7 seeions to get rid of my stretchmarks on my uper arms and shoulders so I could wear vests. Do you think thats worth it? Has anyone tried it she said they use a blue or yellow dye laser first to flatten the skin and normalise the texture and stimulate collegen then some other laser to match the skin colour. Sounds promising but who knows she could just be after my money and although she assured me it was safe and was of darker complexion than me i dont know how safe these lasers are on dark skin. ANy ideas comments?!
NEVER BLEACH YOUR SKIN!!!! i think creams are bad enough but to take pills is very silly, at least u can stop putting on cream straight away, but with pills if u have adverse effect with them u never know how long they will be in your system. I know what it like to have strech marks as I have had mine for 33 years, since the birth of my first child, i hate them but i have learned to live with them, i dont think there is anything that can get rid of them excepy surgery! and I cant afford that so I think i will have to live another 30 years with them, although I wish i didnt have to!

Hi Yep ive heard of this before but its a shame there is no before and after pics to show its effectiveness on stretch marks! Then id be more willing to try it!Mind you thou so many pics are photoshopped now its hard to tell!
Do you know what her stretch marks were like, length, depth, width, colour etc?

Has anybody ever had a chemical peel(done by dermatologist)to try and help remove their marks?

The few things i've heard on Cool Beam have been VERY unsatisfying.Furthermore, if you look at the before and after photos on the epione site, you will see they are BADLY PHOTOSHOPPED !!!!
I believe it's a scam. The one person who i know who did Cool Beam said she saw little to NO results.

Invest your money elsewhere, for now.

She said they were bluish marks and some were white. I never asked for the depth or size of her marks, the length varied depending on location. I would try it on a test area since it's not that expensive, but I don't live anywhere close to a place that has it. It's 80 pounds a session and you need ten sessions which in dollars is $1,500 for ten. And since you have to wait two weeks a session it would take 5 months. It's pretty inexpensive, if it actually works. If I knew of other people it worked for, I would take the trip. I have no reason to believe she's lying. What would be the point?

Coolbeam does not work. I live in the USA and know a few people that have tried it. They saw little to no results. At times when they thought there were little results they also thought there eyes were playing tricks on them. And they were. Don't try it.

rah! i am so bloody frustrated!!!!
I tried jean wu for 2 years on and off and i still bloody have them!! although i was drinking alot of diet coke at the time, and caffine does take a lot of water out of you if infact water is a necessary component in this. I then thought skin brushing would be ok but it really does probably take the same amount of time as jean wu, considering i do it twice a day on all parts. Along with the skin brushing i am doing the oils. I feel like i have hit a brick wall and am f***ing frustrated. should i give jean another go, considering that it has said to have had results, or go on with the skin brushing which has not had the same history??

Hi! It seems we are in exactly the same boat!!!
Ive done jean wu on and off but only since the end of last year and also trying the body brushing with oils but now just feel im getting absolutly nowhere,i feel when im in a positive mood my eyes play tricks on me and yes my skin does feel smoother but i think anybodys would after brushing! What i want is to see my marks dissapearing!I do think that skin needs the days betwwen massages to heal and think this is really important,so maybe this also applies to body brushing?God i am also really f**ing frustrated with it all,and it frustrates me so much when i think im spending all this time massaging oils, creams, body brushing etcwhen i could be getting absolutly nowhere with it and im doing it for nothing GRRRRRRRRRRRRR!!!!!LIke if i knew it was working and would eventually get rid of my marks i wouldnt mind so much but it all seems so bloddy heartbreaking and pointless sometimes!
Jean wu sounds logical, removing a layer of skin and then giving the collagen and elastin the skin needs back and ive been researching the healing powers of aloe vera(also supposed to reach deeper levels of the skin like oils)which all sounds as if it should work!
Do you remember from the last thread someone who had rid of her marks using jean wu? she also said that she didnt have a good diet but yet it still worken for her!(she did make a point of sticking to it exactly!!) I wish she would post again! Id love to know the exact ingrediants she used!
When you do jean wu massages do you use what she recommends etc?I also just dont know what to do!SKin brushing or stick with jean wu exactly or maybe combine both but i would really love to hear from someone again that jean wu has worked for!
With great understanding of how you are feeling!
