Thanks for the answer Asking Cure. I think Palmers products are good for the skin, not necessarily a cure for sm’s but still if they improve your skin they probably can make your sm’s appear reduced. I don’t think I have cellulite aswell as sm’s but I have been dry brushing and drinking lots of water for a while which is supposed to help prevent/reduce cellulite so definitely think dry brushing is a good idea.

I think having the right frame of mind will help deal with sm’s. I am going to try a routine for atleast a year with acid peels to see if there’s any improvement to be made but at the same time I do try to make the best of what I have. Stay toned take care of my hair, skin, buy nice clothes etc.

Anyway I will update when I am done with the glycolic and moving on to the tca.

queenofpeels - I remember from when you were on the board before doing strong peels on your marks that you did see improvement. Please can you say what kind of improvement it was (size of marks, texture, colour?) and also after all this time has the improvement lasted or did the marks return to there initial state? Thank you!

Brigette never came back to say whether the results were permanent or not. Looking back over the forum it looks like she made good progress with peels while she was actually doing them but never came back to say if the results lasted. I think most agree it does look like improvement while you are doing the peels. Its after you stop for many months and let the skin become normal again that tells the real story.

Can anyone point me to some before and after pictures of chemical peels? I've only seen two sets of pictures, both on skinbiology. Does TCA also work well on large areas or does that cause too much discomfort?

please answer this!

my skin doctor tells me that derma rollers (and tca peels) are useless...i wasnt planning on starting any types of peels yet, but i was thinking of buying a derma roller...

now im having second thoughts about it....he says its useless, but the common idea on this board is that they are ok to have and might even work a little. please help. i dont want to waste 100$ on something that doesnt work!

should i buy a derma roller or not!? will it improve my sm's..does it work more for white sm's or red ones? :(

please help me decide...

I'd say go for it! While whatever technique you try likely won't remove your marks doing something will make you feel better and may improve the appearance of your SMs. Thats better than the alternative of doing nothing. Just be sure to manage your expectations and realize your goal is is to improve not remove. If you go in with the goal of total removal you will most likely be disappointed.

I know a lot of people want to believe the doctors are all wrong when it comes to SMs. Some are even suggesting those with SMs know more than most dermatologists. Don't fall into that trap of denial and unrealistic expectations. Just manage your expectations.

Hi, I remember the end of her posts from when I started reading this board. I wanted to read over her posts too. Just go to google and type in "female first stretch Birgitta", click on one of the options then on that page scroll down till you find one of her post (easy to find cz they have a v pretty picture to go with them). There will be a link with them saying 97 posts, click on that and you have all her posts. Start at page seven and work backwards if you want to read it in order. You have to click on the topic name 'Stretch marks', 'tca' etc to see the whole post.

Hi!
Yes I did have a lasting improvement. The stretchmarks did not improve much in terms of reduction of size or change of colour (they are white/silver), but the texture of the skin did improve (became softer and more "blended" with the healthy skin surrounding them, where before I had horrible ridges and the skin was paper thin) and that did last.

Have just done the first peel and so far healing up nicely...Had forgotton how much CP's STING!!! OW!

I bought a dermaroller about 5 months ago (1mm). I use it maybe 1-2 times a week. I can't say that I have seen much improvement from the roller. I'd save your money.

I ran out of my glcolic acid so I'm going to give my skin a break for a few weeks. I'll still use my roller and castor oil myself a couple times a week. And of course exfoliate every day in the shower.

I'm going to see my derm the 10th of October after which I'll start on TCA. I have tons of questions for him!
