Stretch Marks!!

not from Thailand, but I do go there frequently and have had several (failed) treatments there.

Here's the deal. Bangkok and Thailand is a mecca of cheap plastic surgery. However the idea that they have some secret cure for stretch marks that is unavailable in the west is ridiculous. You can get the same treatments there that you can in the west - only for cheaper prices.

They don't have the elixir of life available in Bangkok - sorry.

As for yanhee in particular, they offer the same services as Bumrungrad, or Siam Swan or Bankok hospital and so on and so forth. They do however cater more to Thai people than to foreigners (unlike some of the other places I mentioned).

They don't have anything we don't - believe me when I say that if they did, I would have found it by now. They just have it for cheaper prices.

hey guys id really appreciate some advice here,

ive just done a 50% peel after receiving my tca from nova peels. ive never done anything at all on this area, no prior treatment, no peels nothing. so i thought id just do a test patch first with 25%. that meant dilluting the 50% tca. this became really awkward and i got sick of trying to pour out the tca out without spilling so i just thought id go for the 50% straight away.

i was expecting this to burn like crazy, i held the q-tip above my stretch marks for ages scared of how much this was going to hurt. when i finally touched my skin with the tca i didnt feel a thing, so i applied the 50% over a small area.

i followed the instructions which said wait for 3 minutes. after the first minute or so i felt the very faintest tingling sensation, i wouldnt say painful at all. over the next couple of minutes the tingling sensation continued. i washed it off and the area looked no different to before.

i dont understand. ive read all these posts describing how painful it was and how much it burned and that some people couldnt even take it and that they had to wash it off after a few sconds....but i barely felt a thing and i did a peel that is supposedly stronger than most others.

now at time of writing i only did the peel about an hour ago, but is this normal? can anyone else shed any light on this? what normally happens to your skin when you just apply a peel? any pain?

i would realy love to hear some feedback because i have been holding out on tca for ages, ive been a passive member of this thread for years and ive tried everything else and nothing has worked. tca was my last shot and i just dont understand what has happened here...unless this is perfectly normal?

Just wait a few weeks. I just did a 50% tca peel, my second peel. Using very think layer and left it on for 2 min. Peeling start 14 days later. After 22 days only part of it peels. There are still a bit of discoloration for me eventhough I applied very thin layer this time.

I still have a big brown spot on the place I tested tca peel a half year ago. The first time I believe I applied thick layer and applied for 3 minutes.

I'm going to try 25% tca peel for my third try. Since I believe 50% tca is too much for me. I'm asian with asian skin BTW.

First peel, no improvement. Second peel havn't finish peel yet. Both peel on different spot so I dont' know.

I actually don't know if you can, but speaking of bleaching.....
I knew someone who once bleached their butt to make the skin around the stretch marks blend in. I guess for her the stretch marks were light and making her dark butt lighter kinda did the job lol.....

Anyways how safe is bleaching anyways....i heard it can even cause more stretch marks?

Any "non white skin" people have success with TCA?

I'm asian. And have been getting pigmentation from my 2 previous 50% peel attemp.

Is TCA for white skin people only?

I have brown skin. I think 50% is too strong for non white skin. I do peels at 25% now, sometimes 30% but no higher than that.

How long do you leave TCA on your skin before washing it off?

Do you get any sort of pigmentation? Can give a bit more info and outcome on your experience with TCA?

this is what i dont understand. my 50% felt like nothing, like i was applyin water. i cleansed the area beforehand with an alcoholic swab and tht stung more than the actual peel.

and the term peel i use very loosely as it hasnt done anything, im only on my 2nd day but the area is no different.

im gona do another 50% on a bigger area tonight i think and do a couple of layers.

if J or anyone else could quickly explain how to do layers it would b much appreciated, do u leave it on one minute thn re apply, and thn wait another 3 or what?

Firstly, you should keep the size of the area small as you are doing a test. Secondly, if you have brown skin 50% may be quite risky so I would dilute it down to a lower percentage using water. You get instructions on how to do that with the tca, but if you don't have them platinumskincare have instructions on their site.

I don't always do multi layer peels, depends on my mood, but when I do I leave the first layer on for around 6 to 8 mins, then apply the next layer and leave for a futher 6 to 8 mins before washing off. TCA at both 25% and 30% does sting me, so it feels quite uncomfortable on the skin.

I get hyperpigementation, but it clears up on me after a period of time, so hopefully when I am done with peels it will go over a few months.

Like i said though, 50% on brown skin is very risky, best using lower percentages and doing multi layers than using it at this strength.

i have very pale skin and tend to tan so apparently according to the chart im the perfect candidate for peels.

ive already done the 50% and felt very very little, a mild sting at best. this is why i wish to go up a notch and do 2 layers at least as 1 layers of 50% hasnt done a thing.

Hi all,

This is my first time posting but have been keeping up with this board for a few years now. I have stretch marks on most of my lower half - some are quite fine and others long and white, although luckily not too angry looking. The worst marks are on my hips, inner thighs, back of calves and bum. The oldest marks, on the backs of my calves, are over 12 years old - I'm not sure what caused them as I'm very slim but think it's probably a combination of the pill, being veggie and not getting enough protein and ill health for a number of years. I used glycolic acid for a while and tried the silkymitt sanding method before that but had no luck improving my marks - I still have a bit of hyperpigmentation from the sanding.

I started using TCA about a month ago, after following the glycolic method mentioned on page 410. I also bought my tca from nova peels on ebay - 50% which I've been diluting down to about 20% (I'm Indian so don't want to risk more hyperpigmentation). I've peeled the worst areas twice now and am planning my third peel for the weekend. It hasn't removed any marks yet, but after only two peels I can see a definite difference. My marks seem less deep and some seem to have broken up in places. When I run my fingers over them they feel much smoother, although this could be simply because the dead skin has been sloughed off. They generally seem diminished. I think it will take me at least ten more peels to eradicate them but I'm quite happy with that!

To the guest who also bought their tca from nova peels you will see peeling - my skin has been peeling around 7-8 days after applying just one layer of tca and that's just with 20% so I'm sure you'll get a better and more obvious peeling with 50% - it's not the most attractive sight but I believe the end result will be worth it. I don't know if you've visited it but nova peels have a website with a page about stretch marks with some photos of treatment (not the best photos but they still helped to motivate me). I am 19 years old and i have stretch marks all over my body.....literally all over my body. i found that when i done alot of excersize (football) and drank plenty of water my stretch marks faded to a point where you couldnt see them. now i stopped and its been a year they have all came back so it looks like i got to start excersising again. try excersing for 1year and see the results.
