Hi, I performed my first TCA peel at home last Monday using two layers of 15% strength on a small area around my stomach region, and aside from minor, insignificant flaking, nothing happend. I was wondering if by any chance I could go ahead and perform another peel at a higher percentage without waiting the recommended three to four weeks? :(

Hi everyone,

Just thought I would pop on and say a quick hello to all. I too noticed not alot happening in this thread... but I guess there's only so much returning members can say! Maybe some new ones will turn up soon and get the thread going again.

At the moment, I'm not feeling as bad about myself/stretch marks. I am dieting, and trying to lose the weight. I may not be losing as quickly as I did last year, but it's better than gaining and stretching my skin further.

I'm not always thinking about my marks like I was a few weeks ago. Of course I think of them everyday, but before they were pretty much on my mind every 10 minutes! I'm not threating over them at the moment, but that's mainly because I cannot feel them hurting (that stinging itchy sensation) that has stopped, which makes me feel better.

I haven't started with any of my cream yet and neither have I ordered some TCA. I will probably leave it until the new year now as I would prefer not to order from overseas at this time of the year. It would probably be a nightmare receiving it and could get lost in the post... so I will wait until Christmas is right out of the way.

PS: I noticed some people mentioning having problems getting their posts to come through on here? I am too, I enter my message and the code then click submit and it shows up an error message saying "The submitted form was invalid. Try submitting again." I just hit submit again and it should work.

Hope everyone is ok, take care.

Hello All, I haven't posted here but have been following this board for a while. At first I thought it was my imagination but I have seen some fading of my old white stretch marks with the castor oil, plastic wrap and heating pad method. I have been doing it for a while but just in the last month have begun to do it faithfully 2x a day for 20-30 minutes.

Has anyone else tried this consistently?

I've heard of it from doing searches and have actually heard advertisements about it on the radio, but I haven't heard any testimonials about it. I'm not sure if it works, but I do think that you have to help the inside as well as the outside when curing SMs.

I think you should give it a few more days to peel. If no peeling occurs, I would peel again but at the same percentage. I don't want you to cause any damage so be sure to be cautious. I'm sure other peel gurus while chime in.

I tried it for a while this summer and I do think that my older marks faded some but my newer marks didn't really show any progress. But, then I went to europe and didn't have a correct electrical adapter and my heating pad burned so I haven't tried it for a long time. But the time I used it, I would say I saw some improvement. Where are your SMs? and what type of heating pad are you using? I have been wanting to go back to this method and wanted to find another heating pad that covered a large amount of skin so I wouldn't spend hours heating the castor oil.

I wonder what the Livadone ingredients are. If it's only serrapeptase for example you can get it cheaper if you order another brand.

I've been visiting this site for, perhaps, years and it's so frustrating to see that we are still struggling with these horrible marks. I remember when people talked about exfoliation, then filing, and now TCA peels... Sigh.

I'm a 20 year old male and I've had stretch marks since I was 13 or 14. The heaviest I've been was 250 pounds and now I range from 190 to 200 pounds. I have stretch marks all over. I even have two or three stretch marks crawling on the top of my left forearm.

It's a little comforting to know that I'm not the only one. I know I shouldn't be so stressed about these marks, but they're so horrible for my confidence. I have never worn shorts since 13! And I'm always pushing my T-shirt sleeves to cover my marks. I wouldn't be caught dead without a shirt off.

I've thought about doing the peels, but so far nobody has experienced much improvement. I just cannot understand why there is no treatment for these damn stretch marks with all this technology in cosmetic surgery and lasers and such...

I've tried Dermablend and they seem to cover them a little bit, but nothing can be done about the indents.

I know I've basically contributed nothing, but it's nice to release some stress.

I hope so badly that a treatment... or miracle cure, I wish... will be discovered before I turn 40. Ugh.

I am using a Sunbeam heating pad that I got from CVS. My SMs are on my hips and butt.

I thought I should give an update on my peels. Sure it is not super fast, but I am really happy with the improvements in my skin and I do definitely feel I can get resolution doing them. Every area continues to improve. Hope everyone else is well and merry xmas all.

im having no luck with the tca. im devastated. it was the only thing i havent tried (apart from laser) and it seemed really promising because of other peoples success. turns out it just isnt working for me. im completely lost now for what to do.

and to make things better i went shopping today for new clothes, i was trying a new shirt on and as i took my shirt off (something i hate doing) i caught a glimpse of my stretch marks (and though i hate looking at them and try to avoid it at all costs) and decided to inspect them. they looked HORRENDOUS. ive never seen them look so bad. the lighting there really brought out every little sm. i didnt even know that they took up my entire back i thought it was just the middle section. they cover my entire back now and arc round towards the front of my body. i can see them on the sides of my body now from the front without even looking in a mirror. im just lost for words right now. i ended up putting back all the clothes without even trying them on as i was so p!ssed off/depressed.

its so frustrating knowing that there is nothing i can do. i just have to wait it out til theres a cure in 5yrs? 10yrs? 20? 50? during my lifetime? and i just cant handle that. sitting back and doing nothing is driving me mad but i dont see what else i can do.

if anyone else has any suggestions pls pls pls help me. i dont even know of any method to try now. i may just carry on with the tca though it hasnt shown any improvement and it has started causing dark brown discoloration.

sorry for the vent again guys but man im p!issed

I have seen a difference in the texture and color. I could run my hand down them and feel the ridge lines and now I can't. Slowly, I am seeing some fading of the white. (My skin is very tan) There will be a long white stretch mark and in the middle there will be a break in the stretcmark that wasn't there before. All I can say is for myself, they look to me like they are fading. Some SM easier than others (don't know why that is). I don't know that they will ever totally dissapear but my goal is to be able to wear a bikini and not have someone notice them unless they are really looking. I didn't see good results with the castor oil until I really started doing it consistently. Hope that helps ace243

radiofrequency

the reason why the heating pads+oil are improving your stretch marks might be because it heats the deeper layers of skin. But many applications are necessary.
heating the skin's inner layer (dermis), while its outer layer (epidermis) is continually cooled is a principle of Accent Radiofrequency -which is supposedly improving stretch marks . As the inner layer is heated, a natural reaction occurs, promoting the creation of new collagen.

Yes, perhaps cator oil is not even necessary, but it may help with the heating process. I think I've heard someone else having improvements using the same method but olive oil instead.
