I think that you are referring to Tytex. I remember them being advertised, but I never saw any as I think they were mail-order only.

They are no longer made, but you might be lucky to find them in a charity shop.

I had loads of pairs some years ago and absolutely loved them. They were quite functional and not very aesthetic and I mostly wore them under trousers or jeans, really good to pull on, have warmer feet and forget. They are in Lidl at the moment. Worth getting a few pairs.
