Really?

I sure do hope so. Obama can come back in 4 years when he has more experience and political maturity to offer us.

This is going to be another presidential race that could just as easily be settled by a toss of coin. It will be so close.

Being black is an advantage for him. I mean, like 5 - 10 black people in the country won't vote for him? He has the hispanic vote as well and I "think" I heard 30% of the white vote. I'm not so confident that he will lose.

If "gramps" as you call him  made it out alive thru the torture he received daily while captured, he ain't gonna die on us. I think he a tough and strong willed man. I watched an interview with his 96 year old mothers and the woman was sharp as a tack and she looked great too. He probably has great genes for longevity.

Cambridge, Please, Get off the fence. Take a stance one way or the other. There are only two candidates to chose from. Yep, ONLY TWO! Or, You can keep beating them both down (mostly McCain), but what does that say about you? Are you a person that wants only to point out the bad without a shred of optimism? :? Please, do tell. Reveal something positive, have some hope and go with one candidate or the other.

A mormon cult? What about a Presbyterian cult? NO cult... it's "word play." Your words, not mine.

Why don't you join in the debate? So far you have played both sides of the fence. One wonderful and positive outcome for the Iraqi people, and due to the efforts of the allied forces is they actually got to vote for the first time for their choice of leader. That seems to have been forgotten that they didn't have a choice before we got there. As Americans, we have a choice for voting. Please don't take that freedom for granted.

Zia, I don't agree. cambridge is clearly a liberal who hates the conservative bush and the moderate McCain. He may not be thrilled with obama, but if you force him to choose between the major parties, he'll choose obama. After all, his pick was edwards, who gives the impression of being very liberal when putting on his politician hat.

Let sleeping dogs lie and hope he doesn't vote for either major party candidate :D

Interesting . . .

I heard that, and didn't think anything of it. He's wealthy, as they all are. I seriously doubt most of the top politicians really know every single thing they're invested in.

I'm not for McCain, personally, but because I don't think he's done a good job, therefore I don't support promoting him.

I'm not for Obama, personally, because he's clearly too inexperienced and unqualified.

There are tens of millions of Americans I can vote for (citizens over 35). It all depends on your goal. If you just want to be part of the "winning team", then you have to pick one of the two with an actual chance of winning. But if your goal is to vote for someone you honestly think will do a good job . . . then you are free to vote for anyone. Your one vote will not decide the election, so if anyone claims that by not voting for X you are actually giving it to Y they are lying, just to gain advantage for their chosen team.

Politics is a 'team' sport. By far most people aren't serious about politics, don't even pay attention in non-Prez election years.

Obama appears to be losing ground rather than widening his lead in the polls.

The average of the national polls over the past week have Obama ahead by only 1.5%: http://www.realclearpolitics.com/epolls/2008/president/us/general_election_mccain_vs_obama-225.html

McCain has pulled ahead in polls in the battleground states of Ohio, Indiana, Missouri, Virginia, Nevada, Colorado, North Carolina, Florida, Montana and Georgia, and he has built solid double-digit leads in Texas, Mississippi and Louisiana: http://www.realclearpolitics.com/epolls/2008/president/battleground.html

If McCain wins every state in which he is presently ahead in the polls, he would win the election.

Everything can change between now and Election Day in November, but the most recent trend favors McCain despite that he has done little if anything positive to help himself by campaigning.

Yes, it was a gaffe and John should know how many homes he owns. But after reading the following, many of them are actually owned by his wife, sometimes not directly, but through trusts, etc. John himself probably owns very few and has very little to do with the others.

obama will be pointing this out from now until election day, but he should be careful because he himself lives in a glass house, metaphorically speaking. He received his house and adjoining land in two stages through dealings with convicted felon Tony Resco, and an investigation is under way to determined whether he got them in a shady, underhanded way for below their legitimate market value.

Zia, I thot that was an excellent post and I congratulate you for it. Yes, I might seem to be wild-eyed and irresponsible, but have you ever considered the negative vote? Neville Shute promoted it in Oz. If we had the negative vote then there would be legitimacy for my position. I would vote no as to each of McCain and Obama.

Obama and the democrats have shown their cowardice by voting to fund a needless war, and by cowardly voting in favor of the renewed FISA attack on the US Constitution. The US Constitution is sacred to me (I have a masters degree in it and I intend to respect that commitment), and anyone who is against the US Constitution is my enemy. Obama voted against the US Constitution, and hence he is my enemy.

Ben is right to be enthusiastic over my position as he sees it as one less vote for his opposition. But before you lament, take a look at dudeski’s post. It makes sense. Now, if you really want to make sense of my vote, VOTE FOR CAMBRIDGE. Who knows…it could happen.

Cambridge,

Thank you.

Nope, I haven't considered the negative vote. I'll think about it though. I don't see that it will make any real difference but, ya never know until it's tested.

As for voting for you... I'll have to see how you stand on the issues. I know how you stand on Iraq and I'm not with you on that one. If you want to tax people the same percentage straight across the board, then I'd see that a plus.

I'm glad the Constitution is sacred to you. America is to me as well. There is no place as unique as we have it here. :D

Sad to say think he's losing , maybe we're not ready to elect a black guy president at least if he's a Democrat and also you have to be honest he doesn't have much experience and looks so young .

Moi is still for him though . Working for him monday .There's a big pomosexual hillbilly bartender vote I can really help with .................. :D
