Would it break your heart to know I have a radically different opinion?

:-)

I agree that I hope Obama is not harmed. Its 2008, dang it, and the last thing we need are ignorant yahoos trapped in the 19th century mindset. I really, really wish we were in a world beyond that kind of thing.

Of course, I know, we're not. But a man can spend a moment dreaming, can't he?

They are now saying there is no evidence that it was an assassination plot. Just a big mouth fool over heard speaking out of his behind.

World peace? If you want to look at the smaller picture of a short term range... And, if while at the same time, America becomes weak and it's citizen's are f*cked is your idea of world peace well, you might be correct.

Pretty eclectic, dudeski. Given the quality of your other posts I would love to hear you explain. That’s not a criticism, just an interest.

Yeah, it's been in the back of my mind, too. Elohim City in Eastern Oklahoma is a breeding ground for American terrorists, as it was for Timothy McVeigh in the Oklahoma City bombing.

God forbid that any such thing should happen. But America loves its guns, and guns seem to be the answer for everything in the US, from Iraq to gang warfare in east LA. I hope they watch him like a hawk.

Chairman, What is a republican government? Do tell this American please.

And who is it that gets to have the peace? Is it going to be the working American that works 14 hour days, 6 days a week to only take home less money in order to pay for someone else that sits on their behind and does nothing and others that lay on their backs and reproduces like rabbits? I'm curious how you think it works over here.

BTW, I'm glad you don't get to vote. :D

Hillary is still seething mad at Bill! At her speech last night, she opened with - I am a proud mother; I am a proud democrat; I am a proud senator; I am a proud American; I am a proud supporter of obama. Nowhere did she say she is a proud wife, even though all camera eyes constantly cut away to her husband bill! I wonder if they even sleep in the same bed? :?:

Hillary did her duty and gave the minimum obligatory political endorsement to obama. She delivered it well. She sadi things like I am great and did ten billion historical things....and that is the reason I support obama! Huh? She only talked about him as the nominee and did not endorse any of his qualities or ability, nor did she say he would make a good president. And she said she looked forward to the day he would pass her health plan (universal free coverage). Reportedly in the text of her speech handed out to the convention she was going to say I support obama - and you should too. However, in the actual speech, she only said she supports obama and couldn't get herself to say and you should too. Can't say I blame her; she got screwed and dissed big time. :(

More drama with Bill speaking tonight.

One that is not democratic..! There will be more peace in the world wherever there is conflict...

Ps: Im glad I dont get to vote as well... :D

In other words, you don't know. Our government is a democracy. The Republican party doesn't change that.

Now what does the above mean about "more peace wherever there IS conflict"? Do you mean when the US doesn't get involved?

G'morning.

I'm a pretty simple guy, really -- in my experience peace is gained thru superior firepower. If you wish to avoid peace, prepare for war, as the cliche goes. Many times, the only way to avoid war is to be strong enough to make it costly to cross you. Nobody picks on the biggest kid on the block.

I kinda think that what is happening in Georgia right now might be a decent example, if I understand the situation.

The US is engaged in Iraq and Afghanistan, and the political climate makes it clear that we will not engage Russia. Politically we don't have the stomach for another war right now. If the Putin thought the US were willing to use force to defend Georgia, they would not be doing what they are doing.

Altho on a side note, I don't really blame Russia for that. Georgia started that one, from what I understand!

Yes, I noticed that. ;)

I don't know what to make of it. The difficulty is that death threats must always be taken seriously. I hope Obama stays safe.

Don't worry. He has the protection of the Secret Service. If George Bush hasn't gotten whacked, I don't think Obama has to worry about his protection.
