You would understand how the women are viewed and treated by the Islamic fundametalists. You would understand how women are discriminated at every sphere of life in an Islamic society. Now, women are about 50% of the population. How do you expect a society to make progress when a half of its people are oppressed?

Well, this debate is one of nuanced layers. But Lena, you are too quick to lay blame on the doorstep of the Israelis. The GWBTK administration was an aberration in modern international society. The neocons were so impressed with their own position as being charged with the most powerful nation on earth, that they decided to experiment with that. With disastrous results.

It has never really been established that the attack on the USS Liberty was in fact a mistake by the Israelis - there is actually quite a bit of evidence that suggests it was not.
