My doctor said to persevere so i carried on for 3 more months. I've been of this pill now for three weeks and for the first time in ages i'm having a proper period.
I feel much better in myself not anxious no pmt or cramps this month or anything.

I was like a raging moster when i was due on that pill

I've been on this pill for nearly a year, after having taken microgynon before that. After coming off micro, I lost a lot of weight (which might have been due to some lifestyle changes) and felt generally better in myself. I was put on cerazette as I wanted the protection and escape from awful periods but without the side effects of micro!

In the last year my weight has gone up and i feel a hell of a lot more bloated than normal (i should be doing more exercise however which isnt helping), but more significantly my boobs have grown from a D to a G cup! It's driving me insane, and I just wondered if anyone had had similar experiences....Does coming off the pill help? and does there exist a pill that might have a magic boob shrinking effect??
Any comments welcome!

I was on it for about 6 months. Worst time ever, i got worried as periods were so light but lasted about 4 weeks, i started to thing something else was wrong with me.
I never thought i would be so happy to have a proper period, and my anxiety has stopped too.

I wish i had been stronger and told my doctor i wanted off it after the 3 month prescription first given.
Although at the moment i have no birth control it feels good knowing my body is getting back to normal.
Also i have no bloated feeling 3 weeks out of every 4.

Hi,

I think ive been having every side effect that you could possibly have with cerazette. Headaches, acne although i never suffered this before. Facial hair growing on the chin and neck. Also have dark hairs growing around breasts and tummy. I get very bad mood swings on this pill. I used to be such a happy go lucky person, i rarely got bothered about things. On cerazette i am so sensitive, agressive and angry all the time. My head fells like im constantly confused and i have been on this pill for about 7 months now. I do get bleeding but just spotting when i get to the end of my pill packet which last a max of 2 days. I am coming off this soon and getting the coil fitted as none of this contraceptive things agree with me. Ive had them all but i can clearly say this is the worst. It is affecting my relashionship aswell as making me very depressed. Dont want to get pregnanat so am going to grin and bare it for another 2 weeks. Hope my relashionship last it and that everything starts to get better once i stop.

I've been on Cerazette for a year now and I've had no periods and no problems. It seems that this pill works for some people and not for others as is the case with all oral contraceptives. The only negative I have found is that I get more spots than I ever did before and this has not been an instant symptom, it has developed ove time.

Has anybody had any problems with tender swollen breasts while on cerazette for a long period of time, I am having symptoms that are more likely to be assocoiated with pregnancy and am worried that perhaps the pill has not worked as well as it should have done! I know the pill should mimic pregnancy but why all of a sudden would my breasy get sore and grow?

Hi i had really tender breasts while on that pill and it also took me up a cup size. I had exact same symtoms as when i was pregnant. I also when up 2 dress sizes hoping it will come of now as quick as it went on.

As much as i hated the time of the month i worried as i never had a period on this pill and always felt that you period i a way of your body getting rid of certain stuff so when i never got a period it just didnt seem right.

My advice to anybody using this pill that isn't happy with it, would be to stop taking it. I went to see my doctor about it and came away feeling like I had been wasting his time! This was in the early stages too!

I wish I'd just done what was right for me. My relationship with my boyfriend deteriorated too as we couldn't talk to each other without me wanting to bite his head off and doing so most of the time!

For those of you wondering about the weight gain, the weight did come off quite quickly in the 1st month and you'll find you don't feel half as hungry as you used to!

Good Luck!

I was put on this after my previous POP Microval went off the market. I was completely happy with that.

I have had no bleeds in over 4 months, and a nearly constant headache (though I never had headaches before).

Like a number of other people on here I have been so tense, angry and aggressive. I cannot look at my partner without snapping at him and have no libido whatsoever.

I seriously considered not starting the next pack.

My bleeds have still not stopped, ive been on this pill now for nearly 2 months, altho the bleed is more like spotting it is still there and doin my head in..

Also ive started suffering from severe mood swings, i can be on top of the world 1 minute and crying my eyes out the next. Ive put on nrly 8 pounds since starting this pill, and i feel bloated, fat and ugly...

I cant take the normal pill cos that gives me severe headaches, i dont want the injection pill, and im a bit worried about having a coil fitted. Is there any other contraceptives i can take?

Some advise please

My doctor said i could try the implant or the coil not reallly happy about those may possibly try injection.

Same as me in the end you just have to be strong and tell your doctor you want off!!!

They discontinue the pill i was on before and that was the only one that agreed with me.
I too cannot take the nomal pill as is increases my chances of blot clots as my younger sister died a few years ago from a blot clot. Plus also i smoke.
So was told if i have normal pill it could be very dangerous.

In the end i came of this pill because i was terrible on it and so very glad i did, never felt better

cerazette

I'm so glad to hear i'm not the only one who is having problems on cerazette. I'v been taking it seven months and i'v put on just under a stone and got the worst spots i'v had in my life!

I quite like the fact that my boobs have gone fron a B to a D but the weight and skin I can't deal with.
At first doc said spots were just my age (18) and i should exercise more but after reading all this I think its most likely cerazette.

The only reason I am reluctant to come off it is the ease of never having any bleeding at all in the whole seven months and it's one of the only POPs with a twelve hour missed pill window.

any other suggestions?

Hi Izzy1901,

I would really recormend for u to not take the injection or implant. The injection's that are normally given are for 3 months and these have caused many people i no problems. Headaches, ovary csysis, mood swings, agressive behaviour. This will be left in your system all this time so i was say dont go for these. I have had a copper coil fitted. Wont lie to u. I havent had any kids and it was seriously painful having it fitted. The lasted for 2 days. I would recormened the copper coil something that doesnt play around with your hormones.

Cerazette

I think I must be one of the lucky ones who've actually had a more positive experience with Cerazette. I take it as I suffer from migraines so can't take the normal pill.

I've been taking it since April and the only side effects I've found are:

1. My periods have stopped altogether, which I think is a good thing as I have a long distance boyfriend. We now don't have to fit our visits around my cycle!

2. I've put on a bit of weight which I'm not happy about - prob between half a stone to a stone, which is not good. Am starting to go to the gym more and watch what I eat to combat this, though.

But I've not experienced any other effects like mood swings, feeling unwell or skin outbreaks. I've had far worse experiences in the past with the combined pill so all in all the benefits of Cerazette far outweigh getting pregnant. My advice is try it and see if it works for you. Everyone's different.

hi all,
I am in to my third pack of cerazette and have not yet had a bleed. I have been quite worried about this as I have always had bleeds on pills before. I had the mirena coil for a year before going on to cerazette but I bled horrendously for 3 weeks at a time, so wasn't expecting the cerazette to work.
I am very pleased with it so far. :D
