Hi everyone!

I came off cerazette back in april. Best thing I have done in a long time! although probably not best to do this if you have exams coming up like I did!

It took almost 3 weeks from stopping to get my periods back and from then I have had one weekend on my period (friday till monday/tuesday) then a weekend off, weekend on, weekend off and I have just stopped my period from this weekend. Hopefully is all settling down now.

Just remember girls, if you want to stay on cerazette, give it time to settle down - I say a good 6 months or so. And when you come off, the bleeding issues continue for a while anyway until your body realises it is not being poisoned anymore!

Keep yourselves happy and remember we're all here to share our experiences for other women who are on this dreaded pill!

I do not like Cerazette

Hi there!

I was on cerazette for about a year. I came off it about 3 weeks ago and have had no period. I have had slight crampy twinges but no period. I also have had tender nipples and have put on about a stone in weight. I think all these issues should actually be explained properly by a docter. I used to be on mycrogynam 30 (Spelling is awful) which I thought was great but had to change as my doctor said its better with my heart condition. For me not having a period seems really un-natural that is why I stopped taking it. Does anyone know of any other pill or contraception that is better????

Thankyou :D

Nope, dont be worried - it happens. And if you start bleeding dont panic, it will go on for a while!

Hello,
I took cerazette for a little longer than you about 18 months or so. I stopped and it took 3 weeks for my period to come. now its here every other weekend (lucky me).
Sorry but have no idea whether anything is better - trial and error. Try talking to your local sexual health clinic

Cerazette

I have been on this pill for just over a month and I have had to come off of it. It has given me awful mood swings. One minute I am fine the next I am so angry and I don't know why! I was on Microgynon before but also had to come off of that because of the same problem. I dont know what else to do because I think most contraceptives cause side effects, I am considering the coil - does anyone have any advice they can give me on the coil?

Ive been taking Cerezette for 5 months now, at first i bled constanly for 2 weeks and had periods all over the place sometimes twice a month and really bad mood swings, however i kept taking it and i had continuous spot bleeding for 1 month after 3 months of taking itm however after 4 months period lasted 4 days and was really light and this month nothing at all and all the mood swings are gone.

Just goes to show sticking with it does work.

From the day I started taking Cerazette just over a year ago, i've only had one bleed & that's after I forgot to take it. I haven't gone bald yet (fingers crossed) but still not happy that my hair's not so thick now

Anyone know the science behind this pill? Must be something powerful.

Hi,
I have been on marvelon for years and years and years without any problems, i then went to the gp as my migranes where getting worse plus my partner had a vasectomy, she told me to change my pill. so as we all think that gp's are god i did.
well i still have not come on, am i pregnant ? am i not ?
my partner has not had his first test result yet to see if the vasectomy worked and i have not had a bleed. I also do not get pre menstrul but i seem to be a little short, i thought it may have been because everyone stepped over the washing on the stairs and never bothered to pick it up, I even put it in the middle of the stairs so the all could see, i then realised it was not that as my daughter left her plate in the living room and i blew off the haddle a little too much. not like me...........but my migranes have gone so that must be a good thing. I am 36 and i dont want to go through the change just yet but does anybody know is it a problem if i dont bleed ?

Many women on Cerazette do not bleed whilst on it.

The progesterone helps the body maintain the womb lining and a drop in progesterone will induce menstruation. It will however put up a good fight with your body!

Do you think i could off just stayed on my old pill instead of going along with the gp as it never gave me any problems and never let me down.

and as anybody been taken off a pill they have been on for years for a similar reason.

After going and listening to my GP for years - as everyone does you take their word for what is best.

Then one day I decided to visit the family planning clinic.

These people know the ins and outs to every contraceptive. the GP can only give you general advise whereas the FP clinic can give specialist advice as they deal with situations all day every day.

If I were you, find out where your local clinic is and drop in and have a chat - they are very friendly and helpful

Cerazette

I am like kelly1986. I have tried Cerzaette and am finishing my last tablet today. Firstly I had Ovranette which is where all my problems started. I was on this for a long time before I had to switch to Cerazette because I had gallstones (I am sure caused by the pill). Switched back to Ovranette when I'd had my gallbladder out. Then decided I didn't like it as I hadn't had a period in 6 months.

Went back on to Ovranette and started having wierd headaches so was put back on Cerazette. I'm starting to feel abnormal as I don't seem to be able to tollerate either type of pill.

I have now been prescribed Micrnor which I start Saturday but I just feel fed up with it all.

I have been constantly dizzy since I started Cerzaette and feel tired all the time and have lost weight. These all seem contradictory to what other people are feeling. I am starting to worry it is something else or can the pill really make you feel like this?
