Hello,

Go and speak to your nearest family planning clinic - they are well trained and have huge amounts of experience. Go have a chat with them and see what they suggest!

Good Luck!

I started it 2 months after the birth of my second child and because I suffer from severe headaches the doc suggested either a coil or this pill. Not convinced so far that it is going to work for me as I don't want a continuous period. Not that keen on a coil either. Would really love to speak to anyone who has had lots of bleeding and to know whether you eventually settled down or not.

Hi there, ive started my 5th month on Cerezette and im not happy, my periods have never stopped and they seem to be worse now but this month has been the worst, ive been bleeding for 26 days now and i feel terrible, migraines, bloated, and put on some weight.
I already suffer from depression but it is definetly worse since going on this contraception, my doctor done a whole range of blood tests on me and they have came back fine as i have no energy and im tired all the time.
When i went back to the family planning the other week i was told to give it another few months however its unlickly that my periods will stop, they are just getting worse.
Ive decided that im cuming off Cerazette as from today, as i was taking this to help my periods as im not in a currant relationship and if i do meet someone then im afaid it will be condoms as hormones just dont seem to agree with me & ive tried many.
Hope this is helpful to others.

I'm really glad to hear i'm not the only person with problems on Cerazette.. even though it sounds like i've come off quite lightly compared to some people!
I had my first period on this pill completely normally, lasted 6 days (usual for me), seemed fine. This was about mid-April. I then had another period 2 weeks later, which was a slight bummer - this one was noticeably lighter though, and lasted around 5 days. Since then, I haven't had a period, only 3 days of spotting at the beginning of last week. I'd been getting quite worried about the apart absence of a period, but now i'm considering whether those 3 days of spotting were actually my period, which would appear to be getting lighter and lighter.
It may sound odd, but i'd rather have a full on period, know when it's going to come and not have the worry of whether something's up with me or not, than have no period at all. I've been prescribed a 21-day pill again today, Femodene, because the hassle of not knowing when my period's going to be about is no good for me. I'm only 16 and in a long-distance relationship, so knowing when my period will be (and having the ability to skip it if necessary!) is rather handy.

I've been taking Cerazette for about 4 months and haven't had a period in that time. My skin and hair has become very oily which I've read is a symptom of Polycystic Ovary Syndrome (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Polycystic_ovary_syndrome)

My doctor suggested I try this pill as it might lower my cholesterol - has anyone else heard of it affecting cholesterol levels? I had a test a month ago and it has appeared to make a difference... but this also may be due to lifestyle changes.

Not sure where to go from here...

I was on this for a long time before I had to switch to Cerazette because I had gallstones (I am sure caused by the pill). Switched back to Ovranette when I'd had my gallbladder out. Then decided I didn't like it as I hadn't had a period in 6 months.

Went back on to Ovranette and started having wierd headaches so was put back on Cerazette. I'm starting to feel abnormal as I don't seem to be able to tollerate either type of pill.

I have now been prescribed Micrnor which I start Saturday but I just feel fed up with it all.

I have been constantly dizzy since I started Cerzaette and feel tired all the time and have lost weight. These all seem contradictory to what other people are feeling. I am starting to worry it is something else or can the pill really make you feel like this?

i've experienced weightloss, tiredness and dizziness too.. although not too badly. i suppose everyone just has a differnet reaction to it...

I have been taking this pill for nearly half a year now and i've had no period at all....have been having a few symptoms of pregnancy though like back pain, tender breasts e.t.c and has anyone else been incredibly hungry whilst on this pill?

Also i have found that i'm more worried whilst i'm on this pill, constantly thinking, am i pregnant, lol >.<., i think it's just getting used to it to be honest.

I always worry if i miss one....say i took one at 8pm one night....and 12pm the next...i've done this a few times now and been quite worried. Had 2 pregnancy test but they've all been negative....this seems to be the best pill i've used though.

Cerazette Review

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Hi there,

After reading your reviews over the past two months, I thought I would be useful and write one of my own.

I started this pill after being on a combined pill which I loved for a number of years and them being told at the Family Planning not to take this anymore as I mentioned I'd had one-two migraines at some point in my life!

The nurse introduced Cerazette and explained I may not have a period but may experience a little spotting.

After three weeks of taking this I did have a period which seemed normal. Then around a week later again, bleeding, for a few days but light (unable to wear Tampon) yuk.

A little spotting after this again which made me think if I couldn't handle this uncertainty of what and when I shall bleed.

But I have to say I began taking this pill 25th April, and have experienced a few anomalies, but since early June I have been fine.

Fingers crossed.[/u]

coming off cerazzete

i too am glad i found this site as you dont feel so confused with whats going on with your body. i was on cerazzete for 9 months but came off it with the hope of conceiving. My periods were irregular whilst taking this pill but my mood was stable and rationale. i stopped taking cerazzete 7 weeks ago and i have had two normal periods. Although i feel i am getting back to normal biologically my mood has really dipped and i have little motivation to do things. I always thought introducing a hormanal pill to your body unsettles your mood, not stopping it!!! i am 36 yrs old and have a 14 yr old daughter. i will keep you posted on any good news!!!! thanks[/b]

cerazette

Hi
I've been on Cerazette for just over a year now and have had no periods at all, just some spotting here & there. I have put on weight and my boobs won't stop growing! Which I hate by the way!!!
Apart from that no really 'bad' side effects. The no-period thing is great however there is the worry that it's not 'normal' to go so long without a period and you wonder what is going on inside your body!!!

My libido hasn't really been affected, a little sometimes but I do get some headaches and very tender breasts some months. There seems to be no rhyme or reason to this pill as evreyone seems to have had different experiences.
This has been the best pill I've been on so far (took Microgynon 30 in my 20's and that made me bonkers!!) and a few other types of the combined pill but can't remember their names.
I'm 37 and my boyfriend & I will want to try for a baby next year so I'm concerened about the affects of coming of this pill, I'm really not looking forward to the prospect of constant bleeding!!
I'm seriously considering coming off it now so I can allow my body time to 'get back to normal' before we start trying for a baby. Anyone any comments?
Thanks

Cerazette

Just to say that I was on Cerazette since the birth of my last child in Oct 2005. I came off it in April of this year as I wanted to try for a second child and have just found out that I'm around 7 weeks pregnant so it didn't take very long!!!
