I used to get really bad spots and took dianette for about a year........maybe longer, it did work but it takes a while so don't expect any dramatic changes. However once my skin had cleared up i stopped taking the tablets and WHAM! i had the worst outbreak, even worse then when i was put on the medication, now i am taking minocin. and it seems to have done the trick but i have loads of red scars now just glad they aren't holes though.
i used to try the toothpaste techniquw but it never worked, but i found that not eating crisps or chocolate and eating bread potaoes fish and chichen worked as well as using oxy daily facial pads and clean and clear blackhead cleansing lotion[[
I am so glad I saw this thread. I was about to post something similar myself.
My spots have always been more under the skiin so not so noticeable. The pill (Dianette) seemed to keep them from flaring up but I stopped taking them when trying for a baby. I noticed immediately that every month at certain times, my skin would flare up really bad..on my forehead, chin, cheeks, chest. I have just had my baby and things are getting worse! I feel so self-conscious of my skin. I am 25 and feel 15 again. I have a doc's appt next week so am thinking of asking if there is any medication I can take to clear these little blighters up once and for all. My face is stinging all the time
(Ah, didn't know I shouldn't exfoliate either. Must stop doing that!)
This does not work fully. If the pimple is already there and you apply toothpaste on it, then the pimple will be stopped in its tracks. It will still be there but will stop getting worse. I find that this only works on some pimples, not all. So its not a very effective method. Best thing is to go to the chemist and get some spot treatment than rely on toothpaste

Don't try toothpaste...tis' dangerous lol! Due to the flouride contained in the toothpaste, if you leave it on too long or put too much on ye spot then it burns your skin and makes it peel! I know this from personal experience! Witch Hazel is always worth trying or camomile lotion! Good Luck, Liz xxx
I hate spots but i found that tea tree oil really helps get rid of mine. And for blackheads i found that sterilising a pin and pricking them then washing with any kind of soap really helps fight them off.
