True non-Partisan Politics.

Postby nuffsed on Fri Jun 23, 2006 5:38 pm

How do you vote, with one side so single minded and the other virtually mindless. What a choice.
But fear not my hearties, it really makes little difference. Yes you knew that didn't you?

Well Russ Baker has studied the Corporate influence in politics and the Courts of Law. Yes it's confirmed, Corporate interests are gaining ever greater influence over both sides of The House. Corporate resources also get better results in Law. Politics is being sold. The flags are the same, but the goals are increasingly influenced by money. Corporate money. In the following report many examples are given of how good governance is avoided, because greed rules.

"To assist the public in better assessing this problem, the Real News Project has prepared short biographical sketches of 25 Democratic consultants who earn their scones and premium spread from advising, lobbying for, making ads for, or creating public relations campaigns for large corporations and trade associations. This grouping is not intended to be comprehensive, nor is it some kind of “top 25” list, but rather is meant to illustrate what is happening. The people cited below vary in their influence, professional longevity, and client base, and scores of others do similar work."

How can Democracy function in such an environment?

It's always been like that to some extent... Lordship here and there... The nephew gains a multimillion contract for his company... Give us planning or we'll move abroad...

When people first start out in politics I'm sure they intend to change the world... However, they soon realise that the institutions in place WILL NOT change... They then begin the true point of a life in politics... it's about feathering ones nest... Thank you for that nice holiday and use of your yacht Mr Fat Cat...

The argument proably goes "if business is doing well, the country is doing well..." Which to some extent is probably true... We just don't like to be reminded we are all full of sh*t...

If politicians really started to change things, they'd be out next election...

Oh, if it were so....And as those businesses combine and grow from their successes, people are told to work harder for longer and for less reward, because there is no money for improved services, environments, infrastructure etc..

South America is waking up to the reality of State sponsored Corporate piracy ( and its two percent growth benefits), and telling the U.S. to shove it! Lo and behold, these "rebels" are now achieving annual growth rates of around eight per cent, even though they are heavily investing in infrastructure and Social reform "For the People". Stuff your "Free Trade" America, slavery and environmental degradation is not acceptable.

Yet a military Space Station, and bogus war efforts suck up our taxes like there's no tommorow!

Lets have some ACCOUNTABILITY.
If YOU don't demand change, the planet will.
That is non-negotiable.
