Here it is snowing since twelve 'o clock, and I went out in my ballet flats...
I'm a bit worried about getting home... any suggestion to avoid slipping?

how bad is the snow? hope you make it home without falling.

Has anyone gone over today? It was pretty bad in places where I am.

snow was not so bad, but my ballerinas have completely smooth soles. They could manage fresh snow, but where it was compacted by the passing of someone else, they slipped all over the place. When I arrived at the base of a little slope, my ballet flats were tractionless and despite all my efforts ended up slipping on the same precise spot. I had good luck because I found another way with a rail on the side of the slope, anyway it took forever for me to get to the top: my ballerinas skidded so much that I almost pulled myself up holding my weight on the rail, and it took many tries, it was really a fight...

You can buy ice grips especially for heels. I found a pair on http://www.icegrips.co.uk, only £9.
Try those. Or go old skool, wear wellies/trainers and carry heels in your bag until you reach your destination.

I'm a shoe blogger for statement and emerging designer heels - so I'm very familiar with this problem.

Hi everyone, how are you?

despite the drought warning and hosepipe bans it was a pouring with rain this morning as I came to work. The slippery wet weather is back and the chill feels like autumn doesn't it not spring!

Take care in the wet weather girls

Hi girls

Has anyone else had trouble walking along in their sexy heels with all of the rain that we've been having here? The paths have become very greasy and sooo slippery especially in smooth soled stilettos ;)

Walking around this morning was soo tricky as my little 4.5" stiletto slingbacks kept slipping and skating all over the place on the wet pavements. Several times I nearly slipped over and it was just good luck i think that stopped me lol

Has anyone else had a slippery time in their heels?

Love Carly xxxxxx

Hi...I'm new here....

Winter is not easy and it seems winter is still hanging on this year. No sandal weather yet. I recently got a pair of Kurt Geiger Spangle black suede booties. A bit high, but still quite comfy. The good thing with these is the sole is rubber and has a grippy pattern that really makes a difference in slippy conditions.

No I just make sure I dig my heels hard into whatwever surface I'm walking on to improve my grip, be it wood, lino or men. All soft surfaces that yield to my heels.

One of my friends slipped over in the church hall over the weekend when we were having our jubilee party. My friend Liz was carrying a tray of (thankfully empty) cups and I guess one of the old folks spilled some tea or water or something which Liz must have slipped on. I was right behind and saw it happen, close enough to take the tray from her, and amazingly it didn't all end up broken - and nor did she I'm pleased to say. She was pretty embarrased though

Nearly went down myself at lunchtime, its not summery at all here and the wet paving is treacherous.

have you seen anyone struggling these last few days with all the rainy weather? I was thinking Ascot must be a bit of a slippery muddy mess too.

Hey Louise,
How's you and your sexy stilettos?

I saw a waitress fall last night in the restaurant. Her shoes were really bloody high and hot. Such vicious spiked pumps, I'm surprised she made it out of the house! She just slipped and crashed and the noise of her shoes was super loud as she fell. Poor girl had to serve us after and I'm I'm honest, I was very aroused with by her treacherous footwear. Bet her manager had words about the height of those bad boys. I'll be eating there again.
I like your Ascott comment...SEXY. I bet loads of girls slip in their silly shoes :) X

Hi girls!
In my journey in cote d'azur i found my new sandals unable to get up on some slopes in the center of menton. Luckily it was something like an handrail to grab!
So remember to take a pair of suitable shoes with grippy soles for every excursion.
Happy holidays!!
