dreyam wrote:Hey Scott, I'm just curious (and my apologies if this question has already been asked)... if you don't mind sharing, what sort of work do you do, and what are your co-workers' (or clients', if applicable) reactions to your nails? Personally, I wouldn't mind at all if a male co-working had long polished nails as long as they looked nice and well-groomed (as with anyone, male or female), but I suspect my attitude isn't univeral...

i have my own IT company. when it comes to my employees, at first i thought it might be a bit wierd walking into a monday morning meeting.....but it really wasnt because they all know my personality.....so many werent surprised at all. many of the women in my company have switched and now go to my wife for their nails as well. some of the other guys have even started going for manicures with clear polish. ive often though about sending out a memo saying mandatory manicures were being added to the company dress code policy as a joke.

as far as clients go, most of my existing clients didnt seem to care, because we do our job well and take care of them, and they realize the business benefit. i did have 2 older clients with small businesses who were very conservative who didnt find it attractive at all, and decided to pay more elsewhere. i refused to let that bother me.
as far as new prospective clients, when meeting them, some seem a bit apprehensive at first......but after hearing me and looking at the comparisons we do for them.......i wind up with their business, while naturally some others still cant seem to get by the whole nails thing. which again is fine. to each thir own. my business is big enough and stable enough where i can honestly say that i havent had anything to worry about.

I just feel kinda jinxed with mine as they never seem to be able to grow long without splitting near the corners so presently they're really short as I can keep them something like okay like that.

No but it seems like a good idea.

Long nails can look fantastic and very sexy, my wife does not have long nails I would like her to grow them and paint them a noticeable colour. If my wife had them long I would really like her to have them pierced with diamond studs in them in her pinky finger nails.
To try and enjoy life.Life is to short go out and enjoy life with you Wife or Husband or partner. I wish i had come accross this site some years ago.

Hi, generally i like having quite long nails, around 2.5 cms or so, i prefer acrylics mostly but had my last set soaked off as i had got fed up with them. would be good to hear tips on the best type of extensions to get. i hear fibreglass can be ok....xx
