Re: inverted nipples

Postby emar » Wed Sep 02, 2009 6:59 am

I am young and always noticed my nipples were different. I figured it was normal, but always wanted different. But when im cold, or they are stimulated they pop out . and are very noticable. I just told my boyfriend tonight that i was uncomfortable with them, and he told me he loved my breasts and that he didnt see anything wrong with them. He has never been with another girl, so he wouldnt fully know. I am super comfortable with him, but i have a lot of insecuritys about my body.. and this does not help at all ! actually makes it worst. My breasts are a nice shape, but on the smaller side so I am just so uncomfortable with my body. I dont know how to boost my confidence. Id rather not get surgey or niplettes and stuff. I am young, so is it possible for as you get older, they pop out ? help .

Hi everyone,
Writing to you from the U.S. I had surgery for my inverted nipples about 6 1/2 weeks ago. The surgeon was very happy with the size, etc, right after the surgery and the healing was going well. I did have some intense pain the evening after the surgery (the surgery took about 1 1/2 hours; got it done around noon). The next day I was ok with a few Tylenol and the pain decreased every day and was very manageable.
Wearing the special protective padding was kind of a pain. I found nursing bras to be helpful (a size or 2 bigger than my usual size)- worn open (when alone at home) or closed with the padding inserted (when I couldn't be bare breasted or went out).
However, at about 6 weeks - one nipple re-inverted! All of a sudden. I was shocked. Now I think the other one is too....I went to my doctor who was very surprised. He said that reinversion is usually only a problem in women with small nipples and he said that mine were pretty big. He said that reinversion usually happens in the first few weeks after surgery, not this late. He thinks that I probably developed a lot of scar tissue and that that is what is pulling the nipple back in. He said that 6-7 weeks after surgery is kind of the period of maximum scar tissue - which is where I am.
He wants to redo the surgery, for free. But, he won't do it for a few months, to give the scar tissue time to soften and increase chances of success. He recommends I use products like Nipplette between now and then and says there's a small chance that doing so could stretch the scar tissue and have my nipples come back out permanently. I'm praying for that.
I'm very disappointed about this but am determined to have "normal" nipples.I was very self-conscious about my inverted nipples.....

I first noticed my one inverted nipple when I was 11. I though it would grow out but it didn't. I've tried Nipplet but it didn't work for me. I'm 49 now. I'm in good health and have a good body. Slim build, young looking for my age but that nipple is still inverted.

If I could find more people who've had successful surgery I'd be more keen to try it. I don't want a piercing. I'd rather spend the money if I KNEW it would work, or at least found more people who it worked for.

I wish you all great success.

hi, ah it's kind of reassuring to see that other people have the same problem! i've always thought my nipples were so strange and i'm only 16, but i've been pretty self conscience about it. i was wondering if i'd be too young to use the niplette or not...because i would really like to fix them if i could. is there any one else who is young too--in their teens or so--that has used the niplette? and if so have you had success? i'd love if anyone could help me out or give me other advice! thank you guys.

Girls

I did pietcing 2 weeks ago. Very happy now. Can recommend
For those who are in London - I went to Cold Steel (Jullie)

My advice would be to use avent neplette first for at least 3 months and only if it doesn't help (as in my case) to do piercing. You should peirce only when nipples easily go out and stay like this for a bit. And make sure that they are 100% out when you pierce them.
Actually I was slightly unpatient and pierced after 1 month with neplette. But the most important - nipples should be ready for piercing. They should easily go out and that can be always achieved with niplette.
Also use nipple cream with neplette. Sev times it hurt much and I had a 1-2 days break but with time it goes much better.

Also better to do piercing on friday and spend weekend at home, preferrably topless. First day felt quite crap. Second day was already much better.

I use twice a day hot water with salt and camomile. Now already nearly fine but still use wide clothes. Better buy some before:) Also didn't wear bra first 10 days as it hurt.

I think it's much better than operation. Wouldn't compromise breathtfeeding. Also going to change to golden bars with time.

Good luck to all of you!

Hi girls,

Don't know if this thread is still in use but just came across it and thought i'd share my story:

Both my nipples are inverted and have been since i can remember. I have always been horribly embarrassed by them and no man has ever seen me topless, I have always had very little confidence in that department!!! Anyway i finally got the courage to go and see a surgeon about them, back in June at Transform and I have to say it was possibly the worse experience of my life! The surgeon basically took one look at me and said there was nothing he could do. Why Transform made me a consultation with a surgeon who couldn't help is beyond me, but needless to say i was terribly embarrassed and upset about finally being brave enough to go, only to be made to feel so abnormal! So anyway after that i'd pretty much given up until i came across Adrian Richards on the internet, a plastic surgeon at Aurora Clinics, (he's been voted Home Counties Leading Plastic Surgeon by The Daily Mail and Leading Breast Surgeon UK by The Independent on Sunday). I figured i'd give it one more shot and made a consultation to see him and let me tell you it was the best decision of my life. He was so nice, and his staff (especially Aggie, a nurse) were absolutely lovely, i wasn't made to feel embarrassed, awkward or uncomfortable at all. Although the consultation was relatviely short (but free!), he answered all my questions and was so understanding, for the first time in my life i felt like I could finally achieve what i wanted. Aggie (who looked after me from start to finish!) told me they get 10-15 enquiries a week about this proceedure and its more common than people think. I booked to have the surgery straight away and they got me in a week after the consultation! the actually procedure itself took about 40 minutes, under local anaesthetic, and i can honestly say i was in absolutely no pain after at all which i was suprised about!
I'm one week post op at the momet and WOW what a difference, i can't believe my breasts actually looks normal!! If anyone has any questions you can email me at [email protected]. Hope this helps :) There is light at the end of the tunnel!! Good luck girls xx

i got my nipples pierced just over a year ago beacuse they are badly inverted,i went 2 my local tatoo parlor and the man that did it was great,he said it was very common and had done many times before.
I took my nipplette with me to get the nipples 2 come out and when they did he clamped them and pierced them,he also put a metal hoop round them to keep them out.It looked great for the first couple of weeks but then after a while the nipples were still trying to go in and because of this the hoops were cutting into my skin, after a month of pain i went back and he took the hoops off, then the nipples really started to go back in and i had to take the piercings out.I was very disapointed as the result at first was amazing!!unfortunalty it didnt have long term effects, nor does the nippelette.
I think i must have stage 3 inverted nipples and my only option is surgery, which i cant afford and am very down about it.
So i thought id let u no,altho good, piercing is not always the answer.

standing up wrote:For years I've hated my inverted nipples, and would have done anything to get outies. But reading everyones post, with all the shame, embarassment and money and pain involved in 'cures', it made me realise that I just need to learn to love them. While I may hate them, all my husband (or anyone else!) sees is a pair of breasts!

If there are so many of us inverts out there, why don't we stand up and be proud? The only reason we are so embarassed is that nobody talks about it. Guys freak out because they don't even know its possible!

I dare you all to bare your beautiful breasts on the beach. I bet you're not the only one there with inverted nipples.

This isn't going to be easy for me, undoing years of shame, but I think it has to be done.

i only found out i had 'inverted' nips in my 20s, i have had been with 2 men one of whom i have been married to for a long time now and either they didnt notice or they really didnt care cos nither have ever mentioned them, im quite happy with my breasts in general and i heard that 10% of people have inverted nips so they are in fact not that rare. i think women need to quit giving ourselves such a hard time for not being what we are made to belive is perfect. look how many unhappy women are just in this forum and how many young girls here are feeling down about themselves. really there is no need - you are fine and no real man who has respect will have a problem with them. i know its hard to get over things you see are a problem, but look at it from outside the box - do you judge your friends or partners on the type of feet/arms/penis or whatever they have? its silly really, we are all slightly different and thats fine.

I have inverted nipples and am looking to get them pierced. Does anyone know if getting them pierced will effect breastfeeding? I intend to take the jewelry out once they have healed as I have no interest in having pierced nipples.
also how common are infection problems? xx

I have the same problem, and they don't bother me whenever I'm wearing Le Mystere bra . They're the best, I swear!

My wife has inverted nipples and I wouldn't call it a "problem." Her breasts are very attractive. In fact, I love my wife's nipples and wouldn't have it any other way! The first time I saw her nipples I was a bit surprised, but I wasn't turned off in any way. I would strongly advise women against corrective surgery as a vast majority of men could care less about nipple posture.

Hey I'm unsure whether I have flat nipples or inverted. They do come out sometimes but not often.
I'm a bit worried because I'm 17 and it doesnt seem normal?
Also I heard by the age I am now my nipples should definately either be out or inverted but I know people that had inverted nipples and had breast cancer ah I'm so panicky
Any help or advice would be great.
By the way I live in the UK
Many Thanks
xx
