Because I have allergies to nickle so cannot have any piercings.

There are plenty of options there - surgical-grade stainless steel, titanium, even plastics. Any good piercing shop will be able to advise on nickel allergies.

I also do not want to have pierced nipples, that is just not me and would look odd.

That's fine - the piercing causes new skin to grow around the bar, which will have the desired effect even after the bar is removed. This is a method that some surgeons will use - and they charge a lot more for doing so than piercing shops.

Seems to me you've just dismissed the option out of hand, but hell, if you've got £1800 to burn, do what you like with it.

I'm so happy that I found this site. I feel soo relieved (and I won't say because I'm glad I'm not the only woman with this problem because I knew alot have the same) but I feel relieved that I got to read all of everyones feelings on this. I'm 21 years old, and I used to worry so much about what a guy would think if he saw my boobs, so I would wear a bra during sex, and if a guy tried feeling me up...he soo got pushed away!! I've finally realized that if a guy cares you have innie nipple(s)...he really doesn't matter. And I know it makes it harder to get comfortable around someone but try and make it fun. Don't be insecure if you're in this situation, and if this doesn't help you there are always other options that've been mentioned plenty of times. Every woman is beautiful JUST the way they are!!

Right I have had a consultation with Yannis Alexandrides at 111 harely street. He is happy to do the op and he was quite laid back about it as though he sees this kind of thing everyday (he prob does!) It will cost £1,800.

Shall I go ahead? Or do I need to shop around? How do I know if hes any good?

Surgery £1800, piercings £40. If you're willing to pay £70 just for a consultation, why not try something that might actually solve the problem and be a bit of fun into the bargain for a little over half the price?

But anyway since you've decided to have the operation make sure of what method they will be using to correct your nipples, as someone mentioned above some surgeons do use piercing as a correcting technique so it's best to make sure that they will be using the stitching method!

It's great that you are having this surgery, trust me if I had the money I would too!!! Unfortunately I just had to go for the cheaper option and get piercings instead! The only reason why I would advise you if I may not to dismiss this option alltogether is because surgery isn't garanteed and you nipples will may well revert to its original shape!!! Not nice if you spend £1800. it would be worth checking with the surgeon to see wheather he offers any garantees, I have heard of surgeons who will do the op for free if this were to happen! Of course they only give you very a small time frame to come back (normally around 7 - 9 months) Anyway as soon as I get that number I will forward it to you!

I am 29 and have stage 2 inverted nipples. I have had my consultation and although comments that surgery is not garaunteed etc... are worrying I have decided to go ahead. My surgeon was very informative and has only had one case where the nipples became inverted again and this was because the milk ducts were not cut. I am having them cut as I am not concerned with breast feeding.

Although I'm a confident person this is like a massive weight on my shoulders and is constantly on my mind, I'd love to be able to say what the hell these are my nipples and I love them, but unfortunately I don't!

To all those young girls out there with inverted nipples that are to embarrassed to see the doctor, don't be. You would not believe some of the things they see, inverted nipples are soooooo common!!

I will let you know how the surgery goes, fingers crossed and hopefully nipples soon to be erect!!

Does anyone know that if once you have had surgery does the nipple then stay permanently out? Mine are nice and round when warm, but then when I am cold is when they go in and hard and look like there is a hole, but I am very happy with the round effect.

My concern is that if they are completely out ALL THE TIME after surgery that I cannot wear certain clothing as the nipples will show all the time and could be embarrassing at work. At least now I can wear a "T-shirt" bra which is padded and you can't see the inverted nipple.

I have been in contact with the surgery and am looking to book up for the op now!!
They have told me that the re-inversion is a possible side-effect that is out of their hands but at the same time rare. If it was to happen, a 2nd op would correct it permanently and they would give me a reduced price on this.

Hey i also have inverted nipples, they only come out when i am feeling cold or stimulated or when i touch them, but even then they are not that big. I purchased Avent Niplette 2 days ago but wearing them gives me discharge probably of harmonal disturbance. But with me its excessive. I have just used it for two days. I had the surgery done on Thursday, it was done under local anesthetic and took 40 minutes! I had a sneaky peak at the outcome and first impressions are good but I have to keep the dressing on until Thursday so will let you know if I am 100% happy with them. Although they are a little uncomfortable there is no pain and I am taking a course of antibiotics as a caution against infection. Will post again on Thursday

I think the problem on inverted nipples mainly lies on heredity. I think genetics play a big part on the shape/look of the nipples. Well, a great idea that I can suggested should you wish to hide those headlights is by wearing nipple concealers or what we mainly know as nipple covers.
