Three of us went to Croatia on holiday and one of the beaches was in a naturist campsite. An Italian woman showed us where there was a gate where people from outside the campsite could go in and pay to use the beach and facilities for the day. Although the gate was in a forest at the edge of the campsite, as soon as the Italian woman stepped inside she stripped off her bikini. She looked at us and smiled. "You also, you must be nude when you go to pay the attendant, or strip in front of him or he will tell you to leave. It is easier to strip here if it is your first time." We were nude in two minutes (except for a shy Sue who only took off her bikini bottom off when she felt odd woman out talking to two newly naked women and the Italian). After a few minutes, we reached the open area, and the ticket man! Three blushing ladies paid over 24 kunas and walked to the swimming terraces. Absolutely everyone was nude, no bikini bottoms, no towels. We got our suncream on as fast as we could and got into the safety of the sea, the only cover around. The Croatian women were almost all full natural bush, and not even the younger women shave, so they show nothing. We had to queue for the beach shower, and shower in front of whoever was next in line, which in my case was a man. Later we had the long walk to the ladies and the hot shower room, in the middle of the camp, in our birthday suits (our towels were drying in the 38 degree dry heat). After showering we were able to dry by walking around in our skin. After we got used to walking around naked for a while, and got over the shock of standing totally naked in front of the attendant to buy our tickets, it was enjoyable, and a thrill. We would do it again. The nudity on Croatia naturist beaches is very strict, and maybe not for a first time nude swim. On other Med beaches we have tried since (Bayonne, St. Tropez, Greece), it's OK for a shy girl to leave her bikini bottom on until she's ready, or you can take it off in the water for the first few times to get used to being nude. There are nude beaches all over Europe, and after you get used to the freedom of being in your skin (and the male nudes everywhere), au naturel is natural.
