There is no secret meaning behind ankle bracelets - they are a fashion accessory.

I would cease worrying that your wife has joined some sort of anklet cult and is being brainwashed in the ways of the ankle.

in some lifestyle circles it is true about a woman whom is married and wears an ankle bracelet on her right ankle is showing that she is available to other men or in an open marriage. when on vacation to spice things up, my wife and i decided to explore this theory. she wore a sexy ankle bracelet and when out at various night clubs,resorts etc... sure enough she was approached by more than one guy, a black gent asked her if her anklet meant what he hoped it meant.

This is certainly correct. I grew up knowing that an anklet generally meant a woman was 'loose' and then of course it became a fashion item as many highly sexualised items have. The sudden popularity has only further publicised this aspect and the right ankle 'sign' is certainly one of open to being approached and with a indicator for many women. Their other look/behaviour will probably indicate whether this is the intention or just a fashion item. However I find it difficult to believe that any woman hasn't heard the connections if she wears one regularly and most men will certainly consider it as a sign, especially if the general look backs up this sign and the more assertive ones will likely act upon it which are precisely the ones she is looking to attract by it. If the sign was like a neon come F*** me then few would wear them, the deniability of the act is what makes it attractive because the woman can reject those she doesn't fancy.
