I have been to Elixir once and was my first visit to a naturist resort. Was a bit weird at first but it's a really nice place. Will definitely go again and have a massage next time I visit. I too I'm a bit scared like all guys about having a stiffy during a nude massage but I guess if you're intention isn’t bad, I guess the therapist would not mind. It is really quite liberating to walk without any clothes on, so yes I too hope that Elixir will keep the place like it is. Well done to the staff. PS. Sometimes still a bit worried if people will judge by size which walk around in the spa?

Glad you found naturism liberating . It really is. DO NOT worry about your body. That is the whole beauty of naturism. I know Elixir well and apart from the occasional blind person who simply will not read its blurb that it is a GENUINE naturist spa the people who go there accept people for who they are..enjoy it. Elixir is a very nice place for those who go there in the right spirit.
And if you feel self-conscious remember anyone there is thoroughly used to naked bodies.. it really is nothing to be phased

No, there are two places in Kent which have saunas you can have nude, though not easy to visit without a car and without the same atmosphere- Silverleigh and Eureka. Elixir is a place for massages with a sauna, steam room and hot tub attached.

Even when some women are there some dress in swimsuits, absolutely useless in a naturist spa. There are many individual folks who just adhere to the women around, they are just looking for sex. They can create women experience very unpleasant, if they see you go in the spa they will get in and sit right next to you, begin communicating and before extensive their palms will walk.

There should be a women only or couples and women only time. Not enough women go so it puts other women off thinking there'll just be a load of old blokes there and they'll be uncomfortable.

Would it not be possible once or twice a week in the early afternoon when it's probably quiet anyway? I would probably go back if they did this as when I've been there it's just been men.

Hello Naturists,

I am relatively new to the naturist lifestyle but have thus far enjoyed the activities I have undertaken. I find it extremely therapeutic as well as liberating (obviously). My experiences thus far have been extremely positive and the community is quite welcoming/accepting which is great. However, I have found that the demographic has been considerably older than mine as I am in my later twenties. This is perfectly fine and I have enjoyed it, but it would be nice to engage in conversation with someone(s) who are a little closer in age from time to time. Aside from joining the YBN, are there any other events or facilities that may have a broader range of ages? Also, I was thinking the next time I visit London, I may try to go to the Elixir of Life Spa. Are there any younger naturists that ever attend? This posting is completely of a non-sexual content. I have a girlfriend who is also new to naturism and is also interested in these questions. So please, do not respond if you think this is of a sexual nature.

As someone in my mid 20s I know exactly what you mean about the older demographic. I'm very new to the lifestyle and I too would like the opportunities to mix with a younger naturist crowd.

I've been to Elixir a few times and the demographic is a bit older there too - I'd say 40s and up as a rule. The other problem (probably more for your gf than you) is that it's nearly all men who go there which I think puts women off. Despite this though, it is a good club, professionally run (no dodgy stuff there!) and all the staff are female which might make your gf happier. I have seen younger mixed groups there from time to time but it is rare - maybe the YBN should organise a night there or something?

Thanks for the reply. I sort of assumed that it would be a predominantly male clientele there. It's unfortunate that due to the behaviour or some individuals (mostly men), genuine naturist environments can still be a vulnerable place for women which leads to a huge inbalance of the sexes as well as the stigma that these places are full of "perverts"or whatever. Even though I believe that the men at Elixir are there for the true purpose of enjoying naturist activities, there are so many negative stereoptypes and situations that affect the attendance of women. Unfortunate but true. I understand why the owner employs women in order to make other female patrons feel more comfortable and I think it's a great idea.
