And i got it done with 3 of my friends and theirs is doing fine. When i first got it i was cleaning it with dial soap three times and day and then i got sea salt because i saw the ring around my ball. But it doesnt look like its going away or anything. It doesnt hurt and it dont bleed or really puss. its just red around my top ball and that ring. Im going to go to the doctors asap, but i was wondering if anyone could help me? please and thank you! i really dont wanna take it out. ):

Don't worrry. It's normal. If it's normal skin colour it's from where the ball is pressing into the skin. I've had mine pierced for 8 years, and I've recently got one again from the bar being changed to a slightly shorter one. Just make sure you bathe it and it should go. There's nothing wrong with it though. The redness is from it being different. It will go. xx

I don't understand why women want to turn a naturally sexy part of their body into an area of repulsive grossness?

Okay everybody. calm down. I have had mine pierced for some time now, puss is normal for your skin has a hole with a foreign metal in it so your body is just trying to figure this out. If its just puss, youre fine. If it starts to turn green or anything crazy, then it IS infected and you should go to your piercer for help. Redness is also normal for a few months. It takes 4-6 months to heal, so until then its gonna be itchy and crazy. Do not itch it. Do not play with it. If you do play with it or it gets infected, odds are it will take 6-12 months to fully heal. If youre still worried, call your piercer and make sure youre cleaning it correctly. Good luck.

Okay I've got mine done about a week ago, there is like a puffy red ring at the top of the ball. It itches and white puss comes out. Some times my skin will get stuck onthe bar. My friend has bad it done sence 7th grade she said hers healed in like 2 weeks. My peircer said it will take 2MONTHS to heal. The question I'm trying to ask is. Tell me how can I keep it clean. What do I clean it with. Tell me all I need to know. The peircer didn't tell me a whole lot. Thx =•.•= 8)

I have been reading through some of these posts/responses and am amazed and appalled at some of them. I've had my naval pierced since I was 13; I am 22 now. Everybody is different, and everyone's body will react differently to a piercing. However, you should NOT put Neosporin or a band-aid on your piercing! You should also NOT use peroxide; peroxide kills germs along with Living tissue! Like I said, everyone is different, but my regimen consisted of; cleaning it morning and night, sometimes in the afternoon if it was hurting. I used sea salt, and sometimes Dial, occasionally alcohol. I'm pretty sure I washed it in the shower too. I never had any major issues. It was definitely sore and red for a few weeks afterwards. I think I changed it after a month to six weeks. It was still tender when I changed it. In my opinion, its a wound with a foreign object in it; it is not supposed to be there, therefore it will take a while to heal. Seems to me its better to start off with a good piercer and make sure to voice any questions or concerns with him/her.

kelsseey wrote:kaay... well i got my navel piercing about a week ago.. and i ask my piercer if it was okay to go swimming. and he replyed yes. well , my navel piercing is rele red around the top ball. and i have a bruise. the skin inbetween the two balls is hard. and i've only seen puss once and that was after i went swimming yesterday. it really hurts.. im not sure if its infected or not.
Also. i hear everyone is cleaning theres with sea salt (ect.) . well when i was getting my navel pierced , my piercer told me to not use any salts because that will dry out the piercing. and he told me to only clean it twice a day. is this correct?!

anyways, plz help guys.. thx : )

your not meant to go swimming or have a bath for atleast 2 weeks.

Everyones different! They take awhile to heal, i got mine done 2 weeks ago and it looks like all of yours. Never change it for the first time by yourself, go to the peircing place so they can sanitiize the ring, it takes about a year to heal, sometimes longer

belly button

Postby Kaity » Tue Jan 01, 2013 12:10 am

Ive had mine peirced for a few weeks. The top of mine is still red and oozing from the bottom. Its because my body is trying to reject it. How ever mine stopped hurting like 4 days after i got it. As long as you keep cleaning it you should be fine. This is the second time ive had mine peirced and each time did the same thing. As long as the puss isnt a yellowish color with blood you should be good.
