Postby franfran » Sat Jan 17, 2009 4:16 pm

I was down at the supermarket and found this in the carpark:

Here's another interesting one that I spotted when wandering around:

wow that old Morris Minor would be late 50s as by 1960 they had a single windscreen .Love it imagine how little power it would have in that old 850 cc side valve engine before the new 1000 came in

Here's something a bit out of the ordinary - I was visiting a friend in Croydon Park on Tuesday night and, as I was going past a car park, I saw this - a Wolseley Hornet. Sorry for the bad photo, but it was late at night and there wasn't much lighting:

I came across this parked in a laneway when I was out for a walk at lunchtime yesterday - Aston Martin DBS:

Great shot of the chubby little Morris Minor franfran! I think all of us who have owned one (including me) remember them with great affection. Not only did they look different to anything else but they sounded different! Being a simple design they could be sorted out at any garage if something went wrong - no need to go to a specialist repairer with fancy equipment. Notice the hole in the front bumper for the starting handle to be inserted if the battery was getting too low to start the engine. :) A very practical car.

Here's another old one, although not as old and not quite as full of character as the Minor. Must be at least a year since I saw another Hillman Hunter - they appear to be an endangered species....

Found another Minor - and I think this one might be a bit older:

And here's something a bit different - not sure what it is other than to say it's obviously American:

I couldn't snap it as I was driving the other way, but I just saw someone driving a DeLorean today. I hadn't realised there were any still in use.
It was in need of a quick wet-and-dry, but otherwise looked in good shape.
A bit of an animal.

There is at least one of them in Sydney, but I've never seen it. From what I've heard (from someone I know who says he has seen it a couple of times) it seems that the doors don't stay up when they're opened on this particular car..........
