My boyfriend once gave me a hug and a passionate kiss as he was about to leave and deliberately trapped my skirt in the drivers door. He threatened to drive away and rip my skirt off, but just moved a few feet at a time a few times. The people round about us thought it was hilarious. I could have unzipped it and stepped out of it to see how he would have reacted but the knickers I had on left very little to anyones imagination!

Many years ago I reversed my Triumph Dolomite, I heard a slight "crunch" and when I tried to go forwards the car would not move, when I got out to have a look I found that in reversing I had bumped the rear valance over a low concrete post which was now wedged in front of the rear valance and thus had trapped the car. It took a lot off huffing and puffing to bounce the car back over the post.

I had an old Rabbit diesel ( golf in the UK) it had a lot of miles on it and a bad starter motor so I got out at the post office to post a letter as I got out the car slipped forward teh front bumper going over the high concret curb as my weight was removed and the car rose up. I got back in and my weight made the bumper lodge on the curb making a good anchor I had to get out push the car back and get in fast applying the brake ( parking brake was not very good!) and back out .

This is going back quite a few years to when I was learning to drive (my father taught me as we couldn't afford the cost of a driving instructor). On the second time I drove the car, he took me to a new subdivision which was ideal for learners, as it was completely deserted - in fact I think we only ever saw one other car there. Ideal except for one thing that is. I was driving rather slowly along the road when we came to a very steep hill (looking back now I would estimate it was a gradient of about 1 in 5) - I took one look at it, panicked and stopped the car. I can't recall now exactly what was said, but it would have gone something like this:
"What the **** did you stop for?"
"Look!"
"Yes, so what?"
"How am I supposed to go up that?"
"What do you mean, just keep on going"
Cue for tears.......................

That was the end of the driving lesson for that day.

I had a bad moment yesterday - I was on the way to work in the pouring rain, hit a huge puddle which sprayed right over my little Ka and then the Ka started to stutter and jerk and then stalled completely in the middle of the road when I had to stop at a busy tee juction! I panicked like mad trying to get it to start but it wouldn't go, I was in tears in the end, all the traffic beeping me I just kept trying and trying - eventually thank god it started but I was in such a panic as I drove away I stalled it again! (my boot slipped on the clutch) the car was completely steamed up and I was so panicky it was awful and I was desperate for a pee ! Once I got to work and had a coffee and used the loo I calmed down a bit but I will definitey avoid deep puddles in future!

My Ka seems fine now, I was paranoid driving home in the heavy rain last night though, people must have thought I was mad going really slowly through the puddles !!
My car is normally really good, I've had it a couple of years now and even in the snow last winter it never let me down.

Well thats good then , you must have panicked when she would not start, not a good feeling, lol

I have a Volvo S40 Turbo, when it is cold it takes a few seconds to start, although it always starts just annoys me that it is not right, i will get to the bottom of it.

what part of the country are you in ? :)

Embarrassing moment? Stuck in the mud!

I was visiting friends and parked my BMW facing down a slight slope on the grass verge opposite their house. Bad move, it was soaking wet.

After my visit I tried to reverse back onto the road. I just sat there spinning my back wheels in horrid skiddy mud, digging holes with my tyres. It sucked! :x

I had to call my husband to come and tow me out.

A few girlfriends of mine and I went to the mall one day to do some shopping. When we were done, we went back to the parking lot to go home. Once back at the car, my key got stuck in the door and would not come out or open the lock. After fighting with the door for a few minutes, I finally just called a locksmith to fix my mysteriously broken car.
While waiting for the guy to come and fix the lock, a woman walks up to us and said “what are you doing to my car?” It was then that I realized that my car was a few spaces down the isle and I had been trying to open someone else’s car. Her lock was ruined, and I had to pay both her repair bill and the locksmith who I called across town for no good reason. Not one of my better moments…
So the next time you feel stupid for any reason, just think of me and realize that what you did is not so bad.

I presume that both yours and her cars were the same colour?

If they weren't.....and you still didn't spot it so close to the lock.....well.....I think you should have gone to "Specsavers"!!! :D

A few years ago I had an oId car I'D restored, I used to use it for everyday use.
One day I got to a set of lights and as I set off it stalled, try as I might it wouldn't start,
so I opened the bonnet and tried the starter button( some old cars had a button next to the engine) and tickled the throttle as this usually worked, but no joy. This at a very busy junction and me blocking the road, you can imagine the horns and shouts. People shouting if I wanted a hand and showing me the bird ( all the usuall cr*p) Well I had the last laugh when I grabbed the starting handle from the boot and stood up, they all closed the windows and went very quite, they probably didn't know what it was. Well it started on the 2nd turn, so I jumped in and pulled away just as the lights changed so I was the only car to get through. In all I was there for about 10 mins.
