Sarah- I can relate to having to leave home early to make it in time somewhere, just about everday for me girl! Can you tell us more of what is going on with your car in the mornings possibly?

I turn the key and it takes ages to start up. I try using a combination of choke and pressing the pedal down, sometimes it works sometimes it doesnt. it does get frustratin especially when i think i got it running then the engine stops and i have to start all over again. but i have found that the harder i revv the engine the less it stalls on me

its a 1987 peugot 205, has like 120000 miles on the clock.

i hear what u say about revvin but if i press the pedal gently it just does not stay running. after a few seconds it will stall out. its only when i press the pedal further down will it stay running. no idea why and dont have the money to buy a better car at the moment!

The other question I have when you are trying to start it you say you "press the pedal down" however I would think you would need to be pumping the pedal up and down along with using the choke to get it started, correct??

Also- I drive a 1984 Oldsmobile delta 88 with 200,000 miles because I like you am flat broke and that is all I can afford for now too sweetie, so you are not alone :D

yeah i try all sorts really, pressing the pedal up and down with choke, holding pedal half way down etc until it eventually starts up. I think that i found the right combination though - choke half out and pedal just over half way down, when it does start i press the pedal down a little further to try to keep it running

Keep me informed on how it goes with yours  You should read some of my experiences in other threads here.

I have, but my main issue with mine is actually getting it started, thus all the cranking experiences I can post. Once mine is running, it will usually stay running without too much revving. It all depends on the day and mood of her though, you know what I mean, as you can probably relate?
