People have to learn they can't believe some piece of crap article written by a nobody and posted on the internet. That's something any of us can do, but it doesn't make it true.

They've proven global warming is happening .................there's even a hole in the ozone layer.

Don't know why conservatives deny that it's happening .......really dumb to ignore such a serious problem

What will it take to wake them up , some eco disaster?

It has been definitively proven now. There's been several articles on the news showing HUGE chunks of Antarctic ice that have broken off.
All the scientists who are saying global warming is crap have vested interests in businesses such as oil companies.

BTW, someone was telling me today that there is a new theory out about why the planet is warming. They are finding that polar ice caps are also melting on Mars and that all of the planets are warming - so it is not just the earth. The theory is the sun is going through a phase of being hotter, but also something to do with gravitational cycles. We don't just go around but also - more gradually - up and down - and every 3000 years or so this makes a difference to the planet.

That being the case, then it weakens the man made argument, which in turn weakens the justification of new taxes to reduce emissions.

However, what does not change is that the world is polluted, over-populated, under-resourced and persisting with a system dependent on diminishing resources will only lead to resource based wars.

So renewable energy, sustainable crop building and population control are all still very much relevant goals.

That's pretty accurate. Certainly man's activity is warming the planet, it just makes sense. If you burn fossil fuels the atmosphere will get hotter. However, our impact is in no way significant and climate change dominated by the effects of solar activity.

Here is the US Obama wants to push through a carbon cap program on manufacturers. If you're from another country and don't know what that is, all you really have to know is that you're in luck more American manufacturing jobs will be coming your way soon.

CO2 caps hurt everyone, it isn't a rich and poor issue. Even if you can afford to pay them, companies still have stockholders to deal with and managerial goals on profitability.

If the government adds this expense to manufacturs, they aren't going to eat that cost. They'll either raise their prices (if the market will allow), slash jobs to offset the cost, or move their operations to where the cost of doing business is cheaper.

The government needs to stop playing chicken with corporations. We live in a global economy and the government consistently makes it more difficult to do busines here. Everyone loses when jobs are lost...wellexcept maybe the Democratic Party.

I have just become all environmental.

I am aiming to keep my carbon footprint at least 10% less than that of Prince Charles. Well that's good for starters! I might do even better next year.
